As a Dodger fan growing up in the early to mid 70’s there was nothing better than the Red’s Dodgers and those great teams of Bench Concepion, Rose, Morgan vs Garvey,Russel,Lopes Sutton, messersmith and Alston/lasorda vs Sparky. RIP Sparky you made my childhood much better.

My dad worked the midnight shift. In the mornings when he came home, he would announce the news of the day: Reds win, Dodgers lost.

Then we would celebrate.

Could not agree more. Being an Ohio kid in the mid 70’s was magical. The Reds and Dodgers battling out the Western division (Why the Reds were Western and the Cubs Eastern I don’t know) Sparky was fantastic. Miss ya, and prayers for #10.
