They can say they were so impressed with Obama when he did the same thing as the President Elect that they wanted to emulate him.

I'd love a governor to simply walk out, say ‘we're not going to do it. No games, no lawyers involved, we're just not going to do it. And if the Feds decide to play the court game, go for it, have fun talking to yourselves. What is the judge going to do? Come point a gun at us and make us spend money? We're a sovereign entity. A political action was made, and now we're going to choose to treat it like that - if the feds really feel strongly about it, I am sure we can find the addresses of those who signed this boondongle for the feds to go have a conversation with them. However, the people of this fine state have said ‘no way’ and I'm going to honor their wishes. Perhaps the feds can use that money that would have been wasted to pay down some of the immense debt that Speaker Pelosi and President Obama have saddled us with.’

Instead, I'm sure there's at least five lawyers who are about to become millionaires, at the expense of the people.
