BEIJING - World capitals on Wednesday braced for a new political order in Washington, as policymakers and analysts tried to assess the impact on foreign policy of a new Republican-led U.S. House, a diminished Democratic majority in the Senate and an American president many fear has been left weakened.
"It will be harder to build strategic mutual trust in the coming years," said Sun Zhe, a professor at Tsinghua University's Institute of International Studies.
"China will face a tougher Congress."

Oh no! the Chinese, the Russians, and the Muzzies are upset with the election results! Those evil Republicans aren’t going to let Obama give it up anymore!
When we displease our enemies, and they are that, it means we are doing something right.
Many FEAR has been left weakened? No editorializing there, eh?
How about Many THINK has been weakened?
we have configured “hope” and “change”. Mr. Obama, we hope you change!!!!
Media Template #231:
Republican victories cause “concern”.
Man , are theses people predictable.
FEAR and/or RESPECT US AGAIN... bitches.
I've seen your sentiment ever since Bill Clinton campaigned against George H. Bush in the 1992 Presidential campaign. They accused Bush of working with the "Butcher's of Beijing". Remember that term?
Then when Clinton took office, Gore was shown toasting leaders in Beijing and received much criticism. Yet, trade with China deepened.
Beijing was fearful when Pelosi became speaker of the house. In the end, through all the politicians who claimed they were going to get tough with Beijing, US/China trade relations deepened. Those are the facts.
Why, you ask? One only has to look at the riots in France when the French government tried to raise the retirement age or Greek resistance to fiscal austerity after being bailed out.
When people get down to the nitty gritty of trade and business, in the end, we want to work with people who work hard. The Chinese people are a hard working bunch. Americans, though not following the path of the Europeans, cannot get enough of China's ever increasing productivity. When you get down to the nitty gritty of profits, productivity, etc., increasing trade with China is a reality.
When a nation of people are willing to work hard and practice fiscal discipline, there isn't alot you can do to them to hurt them short of an all out military assault or all out military blockade. Flooding the global markets may slow their growth down, but in the end, isn't going to disrupt their long term growth. If anything, in the long term, it'll actually hurt US long term growth.
