Democrats would agree to extending the cuts for middle-class families, Reid said, but allowing them for wealthy Americans “is not going to happen” because it would cost $4 trillion

So, in other words, if they don't extend the cuts to wealthy americans it is going to take 4 trillion out of the private sector so the government can spend it. Nice!

Or, put another way, “This is what we were going to do before we lost power. We have no intention of compromising one little bit.”
