I wonder what this manual count of write-in candidates will reveal?

It will reveal that anything from "Gus Schultz" to "xxyabbbaQQ2yellow" qualify as alternate spellings of Lisa Murkowski.

I think you’re probably right. And she is detestable. I really wish she was a democrat, she’s certainly not what I want in a Republican.

“It will reveal that anything from “Gus Schultz” to “xxyabbbaQQ2yellow” qualify as alternate spellings of Lisa Murkowski.”

Whereas, Gus Schultz and Murkowski both contain the letters “U”, “S”, and “R”, we proclaim “intent of the voter” rules apply. Furthermore, xxyabbbaQQ2yellow, as most everyone is aware, spells Lisa in the language of the natives of Alaska, and again, the rules apply.

Alaska law requires exact spelling of a name or it is tossed.

Of course, ballot counters at the state elections office are allowed to change the spelling if, in their opinion, the voter intended to vote for someone specific. At least the Alaska Supreme Court will rule that way in the end. If that doesn't work, Murcowski’s friends in the Democratic party will find some excess ballots that they are not using and deliver them to her.
