Exclusive: Michele Bachmann to Run for GOP Leadership
Big Government ^

Posted on 11/03/2010 11:32:52 AM PDT by FloridaSunrise

If the GOP is to capitalize on its success, it needs to incorporate the energy and commitment to principle displayed by the grass roots activists. It needs to realize that the game has really changed and the politics of the past two decades are over. Big Government has now learned that Rep. Michele Bachmann, one of the first GOP office-holders to recognize the importance of the tea party uprising, will enter the race for GOP Conference Chair. The number 4 position in House Leadership, the Conference Chair is well-positioned to inject grass-roots energy into the majority caucus. It is energy the DC GOP establishment desperately needs. Without it, last night’s historic win will be only a blip on the political landscape. Rep. Bachmann is, in many ways, one of the leaders of the ‘tea party’ in Congress. Incoming GOP members would be well-served to have one of their own in leadership. God speed, Rep. Bachmann.

You're right, not a good idea... it's EXCELLENT!!! She can be the one to tell the rest of those establishment wazoo apertures that they need to play ball because if they don't she'll shove the bat up their ass.

LOL Well put! Go Bachmann!

“””Because as much as I like her and much as you like her, she will draw the kind of ridiculous and vicious attacks that will likely damage if not destroy her. I don’t want to see that happen.

I don’t think a woman should be in that position. It’s grossly unfortunate and maybe it’s chauvinistic of me to say so, but obviously women can be attacked with total impunity (whore, witch) and there’s no pushback from womens’ groups. That’s just how I see it.””””

I disagree. Look at Palin. The DNCmedia has been pounding her into the ground for two years now. She just keeps on fighting and is now a good reason we won so big last night. If some of these guys had a set of balls like she does we would have been much better off years ago. I say let Michelle take em on.

If she doesn’t care what the Media, or others say, I’m for her. She seems to be pretty thick skinned, and calls a spade a spade, which shows a backbone. I believe the public is more aware of the “mud” the media puts out there. We’re more awake and more determined to find out the truth for ourselves! She seems pretty talented and well prepared for any position she desires. Just my opinion.

I've listened to her.
She wears big girl panties and can take care of herself.

So don't worry your pretty little head over her. :o)

We need to stand up for conservative women. Michele will be attacked much as Sarah Palin has been attacked, But, you don't solve a problem by running away from it. Michele is an intelligent outspoken woman who knows exactly what she is facing.

Conservative women are the strength of the GOP and last night Nikki Haley, Susana Martinez, Kristi Noem, Renee Ellmers and others joined the great GOP women who are making a difference. They are strong women. They need our support, not being told to get pregnant and barefoot.

“I disagree. Look at Palin.”

Very true. But, Palin isn’t running for anything...yet...and isn’t in government at all.

Palin’s true value is as a liberal head-exploder, and at that, she is the absolute master. And don’t get me wrong, not one in 100,000 women OR men could handle the relentlessly vile attacks she has withstood.

Michele is indeed a close second in terms of her demonstrated strength. I like and respect Michele a lot, which is why I’d like to see her get a few more miles under her belt before she enters a firestorm that could damage her. I would just prefer a more junkyard dog type, a Rahm Emanuel, if you will. I just think it would be a better strategic choice.

I have yet to see a Republican “man” that has the fight in him like these two ladies. The reason the DNCmedia is so vicious against Palin and Bachman is because these two are effective and are a threat to the liberal agenda.

I like Bachman. A lot.

But Jeb Hensarling is no RINO. He would be a great conf chair.

Interesting move. It gives her a look at the intricacies of House leadership without thrusting her immediately into the hottest seat. That’s the sort of thing that will ease the way with the established GOP suits, one of whom she isn’t, yet. And that will be very handy if she wants to be Speaker.

Michele Bachmann is making an astute move in running for the Republican Conference Chair position and I hope she wins.

Yes, she'll be attacked relentlessly by the Democrats and their media water-carriers. So what? If Sarah Palin can handle it, and she has, with an amiable assertiveness, so can Michelle Bachmann, who is just as strong and personable. She handled the smarmy Chris Matthews quite well on election night and can do so whenever its necessary.

It's sad that there are so few solid conservative men in congress that are able to take on the Democrat/media attacks with aplomb - but here we are. That being the case, I'm thankful that we have a Michelle Bachmann on our side, willing to brave the slings and arrows of outrageous liberals as she works in service to constitutional principles. Michelle Bachmann deserves kudos, not Karl Rove-style cautions and backpedaling away from someone who is one of the very few members of congress we can trust.

Go, Michelle!

She should go for Speaker of the House.

Absolutely. Boehner will just be another Newt Gingrich.

How can we help her? Conservatives need to get behind her efforts as SHE is the kind of Republican, conservatives need to rally the troops for the real efforts in 2012. I`d back her as President!

I doubt if we can do anything to help. Eric Cantor endorsed Jeb Hensarling for the slot, but that was before Bachmann announced she wanted to be considered.

Bachmann would be good at a GOP leadership position because she is very articulate and a quick thinker.

A lot of the time, leadership positions are based on personal relationships and whether Bachmann raised campaign money for others in the Caucus.
