Snowe is up in 2012, Collins in 2014.

Interesting turns is that both may start acting less RINO'ish in the next 2 years, which is good news short term. I'm sure Snowe doesn't want a primary challenge. She could also retire.

However, let's not think Maine is Red just yet. We just re-elected 2 Pelosi clones in the House.

The bottom line, I guess, I'd rather have Snowe with limited influence than Fidel Castro, who would be who the Dem's could elect.

GOP Gov-Elect LePage won because the Dem dropped like a stone (20%) and the strong independent (Cutler) got 37%. If either dropped out, LePage would have gotten smoked.

Academic now but in a 2 way race I think LePage would have prevailed over Mitchell as a lot of people viewed her as too extreme for the governorship. Cutler, in spite of being liberal, seems to have had an aura of moderation and he may have bested Paul in a 2-way.
