The dimensions of a staggering GOP victory in the Texas House are now clear: Republicans posted a net gain of 22 seats -- far, far more than anyone I know predicted.
Labor and liberals are cringing because if the GOP caucus holds together, it's just one vote shy of the two thirds needed to pass constitutional amendments. Pretty big stuff.
Not one Republican incumbent went down to defeat, although as many as a half dozen were tarred with bad publicity as a result of extensive Democratic "oppo" research.

kickess!
Yeah and the GOP will get to keep them when redistricting happens next year. With all the gains, I see the GOP keeping its House majority for the next decade, perhaps longer.
Congrats to Texas. Job well done.
Can you guys do something about Cornyn? Hes becoming a blister on an uncomfortable bodily region.
This is great for Texas!
Not only expected, but a result of the direction of the Country that the Democrats have taken us. At least Texas is awake and voting these idiots out of office! If only the rest of the Country was awake and realizing the upcoming conflicts.... Oh well, we can always succeed...heh.
We were awake in Tennessee !
My, oh my. Where will Sheila and her RAT buddies run to now that they don't have Richardson in NM any more.
As we were in Arizona. Oldest daughter had an appointment at work but beet cheecks to get to her polling place. Last, and only one, left to vote. I could not be prouder.
Beat. Thinking vegetables for tomorrow’s dinner!
God bless Texas.
Yes! It is a shame that most of the Country is still asleep! If the majority of the States continue to sleep, I have little hope though. Is this a product of our liberal Education system or just ignorance? I doubt that 1 in 5 could even give the names any of the Constitutional signers.
We are raising another class of ignorant students ill prepared to take on the understanding of America much less the governing...
I live here and it's a beautiful thing.
They just mentioned this on TV about an hour ago that Texas could amend our Constitution without any Dem votes.
I was so hoping to be rid of queen Sheila Jackson Lee as my rep, but no such luck. Maybe redistricting will allow more sensible lines to be drawn so that she will be defeated two years from now.
Can’t happen. Thanks to the racist Voting Rights Act, her district is explicitly protected and enforced by the “Just-Us” Department. I’m in a legislative district in TN that also enjoys similar protection for the Black Dem incumbent, so my vote is worthless.

How Sweet It IS
We did our own tsunami
can they get an Arizona-style anti-illegal alien legislation thing going now with that kind of control???
That will be the first order of business, right after we get voter ID passed.....
