The wave of voter discontent that helped Republicans win back control of the U.S. House on Tuesday propelled newcomer Jaime Herrera into the open congressional seat in Southwest Washington.

In another closely watched race, Republican Snohomish County Councilman John Koster was slightly ahead of incumbent Democrat Rick Larsen in the 2nd Congressional District.

And Republican incumbent Dave Reichert appeared to win a fourth term against challenger, Suzan DelBene, who conceded the 8th District race at a party in Bellevue Tuesday night.

Yeah, I have friends that live down there. They’re really happy to be rid of Baird and said Heck was a huge union whore.

Longview, yeah, little south of Castle Rock. Baird knew he would have lost so he didn’t bother to run again.

No, actually I believe he realized that his political beliefs didn't mirror his constituents and he had the integrity to quit.

There was a vote concerning amnesty for illegal aliens a while back during the Bush Administration, and he had an avalanche of mail, emails, and phone calls telling him NOT to support amnesty. So he voted against the amnesty.

He did as his constituents wished then, but did not do so after Cowlitz County went for Obama. After Obamacare passed I suspect he realized how unpopular it was and that he couldn't and wouldn't do as the people here wanted, so he decided not to run. That IMHO.

I heard about Baird after he feared for his safety at town-hall meetings because of the 'Brownshirt's' taking his cue from Wicked Witch Pelosi's 'Nazi' reference to those daring to question what was going on.

About that time is the You Tube that went viral nationally of Baird being knocked off his throne when challenged by an ex-Marine at a Vancouver townhall. Baird knew his credibility was as Zero as President Imam Hussein Obama's.
