I don’t understand that thinking. Having Castle as a win in the Senate would be like if Ted Kennedy had changed his affiliation to Republican and still voted as a socialist. It’s not about having the most “R”s; it’s about having the most conservatives/patriots. If Castle had won the primary and won tonight the GOP would have won the ILLUSION of having won the Senate...and nothing more.

The GOP would have won control of the Senate, hence the power to select who chairs the various committees, including (most especially) Judiciary. Yes, Castle would have been the poster child of all RINOs, but his caucusing with the GOP would have ensured that Senate Chairmanships would have been in the hands of the GOP, control of the agenda would have been in the hands of the GOP, and nonsense like nuclear options to overcome Fillerbustering would be put to rest.

In short, as sick as it makes me to admit it, a RINO like Castle would have had a use in a tight Senate where control of the Senate teeters on a one or two Senator margin.

Why are the majority if people ignoring the fact that THERE ARE 0 PRECINCTS REPORTING? These calls are based on exit polls ( Polls. Remember the polls saying Angle was done? That Crist was making a comeback? Kerry wins? Gore wins? etc etc) I’m waiting for solid numbers and votes.

The problem with a RINO like Castle is that they can become more powerful in a tight Senate. While it would be great to see the Committees swing R, in the long view, having a Republican Senate with no will to advance a conservative agenda due to the the threat of somebody pulling a Jeffords or a small RINO group trying to assume the bipartisan broker mantle would be a disaster in 2012.

I’m mad at Clint Didier in my state for not endorsing Dino Rossi, and I’m mad at Karl Rove for sniping at O’Donnell. Once the candidate is chosen you don’t help the other side. I voted Didier and I was a fan of Rove. Never again.
