BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The Secretary of State William R. Galvin says voter turnout is expected to reach record highs. He's projecting a bigger turnout in districts with highly contested congressional races. So far, Barney Franks' district has one of highest turnouts ion the state.
In Newton and North Attleboro, the lines were forming before the polls opened and the flow has been steady all day. People we spoke to say they're coming out to vote on tax issues.
The questions on the ballot were important to them. Some wanted to vote against the incumbent others felt it was important to stop the tide of opposition. Many say with all the hype and advertising they've seen- they simply couldn't stay home.

I don’t doubt that Orthodox Jews in Brookline vote Republican, I’m just saying that Brookline votes like 75% Democrat so a high turnout there is bad news for the GOP.
(Winchester Ct) I suspect the hicks here in the hills are pissed, (I proudly count myself as one) things are about to change.
But Townhall is reporting that
BAWNEY FWANK IS WORRIED!
Don’t worry. Barney will be back on his knees in no time.
Newton is the 800 pound gorilla in Barney’s district and a high turnout there is fatal for the repubs.
Barney Fwank’s distwict IS NOT in Boston?
Newton is the 800-pound gorilla, but Brookline is the 600-pound gorilla. Both are deadly.
I think that Bielat needs to outperform Scott Brown in the New Bedford area in order to have a chance at the upset; Brown barely carried the district, and I’m sure that Newton and Brookline will be more energized for a Frank election than they were for Coakley.
6th District is definitely going Hudak!
Barney is in big trouble as is Nikki Tsongas in the 5th and McGovern out in Worcester.... I feel wicked good about our chances!
Perry is going to take Delahunt’s seat in the 10th for sure!
Beckwith.... don’t take it personally. Join the State board, it’s a lot of fun.
We may not like the term but it is what we are known as.
I personally embrace it, I think it’s funny.
Ya gotta laugh...it’s good for your health!
It’s gonna be a good night for Conservatives...Enjoy it!
Yes by rejecting a sales tax cut. Really turning the tide.
You sure are, and by posting your witless comment you prove it.
