New York gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino (R) walked out on a local television interview in Plattsburgh, New York on Friday evening after the anchor asked him whether his comments about Sen. Kirsten Gillbrand (D) were sexist. Paladino had called New Yorks junior Senator [Schumer's] little girl on Thursday, in reference to Sen. Chuck Schumer (D).
When asked if he regretted the comments or thought they were sexist, Paladino said, No, I dont. I was referring to the fact that Miss Gillbrand seems to vote exactly as Mr. Schumer directs her to. She doesnt show any mind of her own in voting. And thats why I referred to her that way.
When pressed as to whether he thought it was a sexist statement or whether it could hurt his outreach to women, Paladino said, Well, you can make it whatever you want, Kristen.
When the reporter tried to continue the interview with what seemed to be a question about how Paladinos many insensitive remarks were causing rifts with the Republican party, Paladino decided it was time for him to ask the questions. Are we going to talk issues, or am I leaving you right now? he asked.
She countered that she thought her questions were about issues, to which Paladino responded by wishing her a good night, taking out his earpiece and mumbling, I think were done talking to this lady. The Buffalo News reported that, off-camera, Paladino told his aides, She wants to talk trash, she can talk to somebody else.
Right on Carl, Right on. Just voted for you.
We need more people like this....
I can’t vote for Paladino but I sure hope he wins!!
Are we going to talk issues”
If that’s all Paladino did, he would be beating Cuomo by 10 points.
EXCELLENT
conservatives take note
answer the question - ONCE
then move on, by foot if necessary
The”TRUTH”hurts,Kirsten?
New York is too far gone for me to invest any hope in this one. Had Lazio been the nominee, he’d still lose, and it wouldn’t have been half as entertaining.
New Yorkers are going to get double-Cuomoed. New York barely survived the first one. This is going to be painful to watch.
RE: If thats all Paladino did, he would be beating Cuomo by 10 points.
Actually no, the reporters would still be dwelling on his personal life, his business, what he did in the past, etc.
EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE ISSUES.
Here’s a question for everyone ... remember George Allen in Virginia ?
What did one instance of using the word: “Macaca” do for his campaign?
RE: New Yorkers are going to get double-Cuomoed.
As a native New Yorker, my only consolation is the other big state, California is going to get TRIPLE-Moonbeamed.
Paladino had a decent shot, but he did everything he could to throw it away. Michael Caputo really put his back into destroying his chances too.
It should have done nothing. But the Corrupt Bastards made sure it destroyed him.
Many people might say that the walk out did him damage...
But I really find Paladino’s confrontational manner REFRESHING compared to the fake, phony, politically correct “civility” Albany politicians show on a day by day basis.
If you really want change, THIS IS THE MAN WE NEED... someone not afraid to tell things like they are.
If the Emperor has no clothes, we better listen to the little boy.
Agreed.
There’s too damn many politicians in politics.
Absolutely nothing. That, in and of itself, was a non-event, a non-story, an emptiness, a void.
George Allen's campaign was destroyed by the Washington Post's (and their crasser imitators on the local TV "news") constant attacks and insults.
The real explanation of the term was just too complex to explain simply:
(1) Many Sephardic Jews until very recently lived on the northern coast of Africa - Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, etc.,
(2) George Allen's mother's family are Sephardic Jews from Tunisia,
(3) the macaque monkey, or macaca, is a common animal in the cities of North Africa,
(4) macaques are pests who harass humans for food or shiny objects and will follow people around until they get a treat,
(5) among Sephardic Jews the term "macaca" became a phrase meaning: "someone who is constantly bothering you, following, you, a pest, a nuisance",
(6) the individual whom George Allen called a "macaca" was being a pest, following Allen around, tracking him, always underfoot,
(7) Allen instinctively used a term, a term based on behavior and not race, that his mom and her family probably used all the time to describe such a nuisance.
The media's spin was much easier to follow: "A macaque is a monkey, Shekar Sidarth has a dark complexion, therefore Allen called Sidarth a monkey because he is a racist."
Corrupt Bastards; I like that term. It is so apt.
I cant vote for Paladino but I sure hope he wins!!
Me too. Three cheers for Paladino. Maybe the MSM flunkies for the left will stop asking idiot questions if people respond like he did. Or, maybe not - that would require the reporters to think.
Yeah, but if Webb (the kiddie porn writer) had used that expression, NOTHING would have happened.
Just like Byrd got away with his “white n-word” comment, Hillary got away with her gas station remark, Biden got away with his “first mainstream African American” statement, and Reid got away with his “Negro dialect” remark.
