For motivation I suggest Freepers remember Capt Evans of the USS Johnston of task force Taffy 3 during the battle of Samar. Our political movement may be the equivalent to those ‘tin cans’ going up against Japanese Battleships and heavy cruisers.
Today’s voting will be like a torpedo attack by those tin cans against the main Japanese surface force. Granted the U.S. ships didn’t fare well in that engagement but they did turn the tide of that battle. The American landing zones were protected and U.S. forces went on to solidify their positions.
Its 7:39am here in L.A. just got back. there was a small line 20 minutes before the polling place opened. all they did was ask my name and my address. i showed up with drivers license, passport, mil id, blood, DNA and $%#* sample.
i overheard one of the pollworkers say we cant ask for id their signature is their id WTF?
Just voted in my district (a small town in central Illinois). Very busy, rivaling a Presidential election. A hopeful sign, as this area typically leans Republican in state and federal races (not so much locally).
Never knew this story. Thanks.
