Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) said Monday it would be "great" for former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) to run for president in 2012.
"She would be a great thing for the Republican primary process," said Romney, a 2008 presidential candidate and a potential candidate again in 2012. "It'd be a good thing for her to get in."
Romney, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) have all rallied around Palin, who on Sunday night condemned suggestions that GOP operatives in Washington were looking to stall any potential presidential aspirations she might have.
"The story is nonsense. Because first of all I know Sarah Palin pretty well, and if she wants to run there's not going to be any Washington elites stopping her," Romney told conservative talker Laura Ingraham on Monday on her radio show.
Steele, who's appeared on the campaign trail with Palin at times this fall, told her critics to "shut up."

Exactly! Note the timing! One day following the politico hit piece!!!
Sarah Palin on with Neil Cavuto on FOX BUSINESS NEWS CHANNEL at the top of this hour!
Palin has been out campaigning, taking the MSM’s bull, the articles saying a loss would show poorly on her (haven’t seen any of them this week, though). Whatever my previously posted reservations about her, she’s EARNING respect, being a leader.
Romney sits back so that however the election comes out, he won’t risk being tarred by defeat, and is there to jump in front of the victory parade like he’s been leading the party all along.
When 2012 rolls around I’ll be asking, “When we were fighting Obama during the first national election after he became president, where were YOU, Mitt?”
LOL. Where has Romney been this election cycle? He’s been staying so far above the fray, I thought he drifted into space.
Right on Romney, absolutely wrong on Brown. He's been all over the place trying to defeat Barney Frank here in MA.
Brown's earned back a lot of the credit he'd lost in my book.
“Exactly! Note the timing! One day following the politico hit piece!!! “
Exactly! Like he’s saying...it wasn’t him....Yeah right.
"Tell the FReepers thanks and just vote the corrupt bastards out, Jim"
Right! Way too obvious there, Romney! Sheeeesh.
Romney should know better than to bring a knife to a gun fight. But of course, he doesn’t believe in guns. Just likes backstabbing.
What a beautiful photo that is! It warms my heart.
Really ? Because Sean Bielat was on Hannity last week, maybe Wednesday or Thursday and Hannity asked Sean if Scott Brown has campaigned for him and Sean politely said that Scott hadn’t.
?????????
RomneyCare is ObamaCare.
Go home Willard!
LOL. Think he falls into the "corrupt bastards" category? Oh yeah!
Hate to hit ya with such a large post, but here goes!
Yeppers. Great photo. One for the history books.
They were on the radio together here in Boston last week, and Brown was on the radio previously and since talking about stops he'd made both days, multiple stops both times, rallying against Barney. ?????????? ;)
Love it...love it...love it....Such a great shot!
Onyx, I noted Sarah mentioning we needed someone who is experienced in business etc.etc. just the other day. Do you think if she decides not to run she would back Romney? I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY!!!!!! EVER!
Now that he’s making nice about Sarah I am suspecious....
Beautiful photo and historic, too!
Jim and #45!
I love to look at that sweet lady who’s absolutely touched and thrilled to be so close to Sarah Palin.
I wish there were a way to get a copy of this photo to her.
Maybe she’s a FReeper?
I too, was a little hesitant at first. However, her leadership won me over months ago. Every day, I am sure thousands are coming to the same conclusion. The army that she and Demint are leading grows stronger everyday.
NEVER! Perish the thought.
romenycare and obamacare!
Sarah Palin isn’t working her heart out only to see a Romney presidency. NONE OF US ARE!
