Iowa GOP Files Formal Complaint: Did AG Miller Violate Federal Law?
Party also files public records request regarding campaign loans from Millers staff
DES MOINES Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Matt Strawn today filed a formal complaint regarding Iowa Attorney General Tom Millers potential violations of the federal Hatch Act, which makes it illegal for an official like Tom Miller to use his official authority or influence to interfere with or affect an election, and also forbids an official from coercing or ordering a state employee to contribute anything of value to his campaign. The federal law covers Miller because activities and programs of his office are financed in part with federal loans and grants.
