When I was in the hospital, they literally gave me nothing but carbs. I refused to eat because I’m a Type II diabetic, diet controlled to well into the normal range (80-90 FBS).

I refused to eat and asked the nurses to change my diet. Instead (well into my second day) they sent a dietitian to my room to scold me. She finally asked me what I would eat, and I told her eggs, fresh fruit, plain meat, fresh veggies, butter, cream, coffee. They sent me two boiled eggs and an apple for every meal until I left. They have little to no healthful food in hospitals, and they torture people who don’t follow the “poison pyramid.”

I agree, I was quite surprised at how little fresh food they had. Lots of jello, lots of sugar, lots of prepared type foods. Just typical industrial foods.
