The Democrats hope people will have second thoughts, keep their local congresscritter or Senator thus canceling out their anger at Obama. The polls say “throw out the bums” out but to play devil’s advocate here, I wouldn’t be surprised if people ended up voting for the people they know best - their local or state representative.
It’s the old theory “Congress is corrupt but not MY Congressman so I’ll vote for him.
