Calvin-ball in American politics--the rules can be changed at any time before or after an election to benefit a Democrat or help a moderate Republican beat a more conservative Republican (as was done in New Jersey for Lautenberg, or as the Florida Supreme Court tried to do in 2000 to help Gore).
I doubt she specifically will be an issue with the investigations but this fiasco should be. Holder and his DOJ will be and I personally believe he’ll resign before they’re conducted but it won’t save him.
