"I support him in this fight because this D.C. Beltway thuggery, as exemplified by Lisa Murkowskis latest threat, is ruining our country"
That is Sarah Palin, from her Facebook page, boldly defending a talk show host who has often spoken against her in the past. What is going on?
First, Senator Murkowski has tried to muddy up the Alaska US Senate race by getting the courts to force the disclosure of the names of "write-in" candidates to the voters when they get to the polls (What kind of silly notion requires that write-in candidates register in the first place!)
Now, when radio talker Dan Fagan did a little stirring up himself of the process by encouraging listeners to get on the ballot too (about a hundred did so, none named Lisa Murkalski I am afraid), Murkowski threatened to bring down the powers of the FEC and FCC on Fagan. Fagan is an afternoon talk show host on KFQD (and looks eerily like a young Rush Limbaugh!). The station, under threat of lawsuit, apparently pulled Fagan off the air, at least until after the election on Tuesday, November 2nd.
Several prominent politicians were at a rally in Anchorage, Alaska this week to aid Joe Miller, the Republican candidate who won the GOP primary against Murkowski. Speakers included Mike Huckabee, Jim Demint, and Michele Bachmann, as well as Palin.

Yeap! It’s Monica Lewinski we’re talkin’ about here. Right!?!
Libby Molotovsky is what she calls herself these days.
It’s hard to believe any Alaskan would vote for this witch.
Merlinowski.
No, Linda McCloskey.
That is the law in WI. A write in candidate who wants to be seriously considered must register with the clerk of the entity in charge of the election -- either city, county, or school board -- if he/she wants any votes they get actually counted. Spur of the moment write-ins are recorded, but not counted.
How much notice do they have to give?
I’ve forgotten, exactly. As I remember, they can file notice any time after official filing has closed. It’s a simple process — just file an affidavit with the clerk of the elction a few days in advance of the election.
The purpose of this regulation is so that election inspectors know which write-ins to actually count and report. We have to make note of each vote written in, but we don’t have to count the Mickey Mouses and Donald Ducks. But, if John Jones has filed intent to stand for office as a write in, we have to tabulate his votes. So, the final talley would read something like Candidate A 100, Candidate B 75, John Jones (write-in) 35, Other write-ins 16.
I was part of a group that did this for the school board in our district about 5 years ago. We were unsuccessful, but we nearly knocked them all off. Close does not count, however.

Her face is stretched tighter than a drum. Must be extreme plastic surgery she went in for. She looks like the killer in the first Dirty Harry movie...has a resemblance to the one Clint Eastwood said— “Do you feel lucky punk?”
All I know is I wouldn’t vote for this Moorecowbellskee broad if she was the only candidate on the ballot.
I'm so thankful they are there to redistribute my income. I'm too bitter and stupid to spend it properly myself. Sadly, I didn't attend an Ivy league college, or Oxford or Cambridge, so I am clueless!
