Democrats struggle to keep voters engaged for 2010 elections

Merle Lee Chronister is among the disenchanted, working class who says he is frustrated with politicians in general, but especially the Democrats.

On Thursday morning, Chronister was out put up signs near Adams-Ricci Park in East Pennsboro. One of them read: “Democrats and Republicans have ran the car into a ditch.”

“I’m cheaper than dirt. For me to spend $21, you know I’m mad,” said Chronister, who is 64, white and retired.

“I want the conservatives to win,” said Chronister, who voted Republican in the last presidential election, but once considered himself a Democrat.

He soured when officials dramatically changed his job at Defense Distribution Depot Susquehanna in Fairview Twp., when he drove to Ohio to buy a car and found the dealer’s terms were not as promised, and when politicians wouldn’t help him when he requested it.

He now wishes he could vote for Delaware’s Christine O’Donnell.

“I’m not happy with Bush. I’m not happy with Obama. But the Democrats are worse,” he said. “Now, the Democrats are giving money to the people who don’t want to work, in my opinion. The people who are working now, they’re going to be paying higher taxes. They’re going to be paying for these Democratic giveaways.”

“Now, the Democrats are giving money to the people who don’t want to work, in my opinion. The people who are working now, they’re going to be paying higher taxes. They’re going to be paying for these Democratic giveaways.”

That's the way the Dems have been operating for decades.

On one hand, the article could be written a little better.

On the other hand, you can see that this dude, who likely thinks like a lot of others, volunteered a candidate who he can’t vote for as someone he really likes.

That’s a signal that Christine O’Donnell really is resonating.

And it’s surprising that the Patriot News is putting pro-Christine material in their paper.

Democrats struggle to keep voters engaged for 2010 elections

B-bb-b-b-but .. voters *are* engaged in 2010! Just not for Democrats, who have wrecked their entire brand-name identification over the years by being exactly who they really are --- nasty corrupt little political hacks bent on their own self aggrandizement and to hell with "We The People"

Dems declared open war on the American people over the past two years and now the American people are 'engaged' in taking America back.

If Dem hack politicians are 'struggling' to keep voters engaged then they did a great job .. in the OPPOSITE of what they were hoping for.

Here is hoping for complete utter FAILURE of the Dems come Tuesday Nov 2nd.

True but times are bad and Americans are awake and now have many more places to get news than the big 3 networks at 6:30pm every evening.

President Barack Obama owns the economy, not George W. Bush. Obama filled his administration with tax cheats and incompetents who don’t understand the free-market system. It’s evident to most Americans that he has lost many more jobs than he has created and that the stimulus bill has been a dismal failure, rife with waste, fraud and abuse.

Before casting your midterm votes, consider:

* The International Monetary Fund stated that the U.S. is on the verge of bankruptcy.
* The European Union recommended that a bankrupt Greece return to a private health care system.
* The health care bill has been characterized as “the biggest financial scam in American history.”
* There are 20 tax hikes in the health care bill.
* The health care bill contains $500 billion in Medicare cuts and reductions in services.
* Why did Congress exempt themselves from participation in the government health care system?
* Hillary Clinton, Obama’s secretary of state, identified the nation’s out-of-control debt as a threat to national security.
* The Associated Press identified the real unemployment at 10.1 percent, and higher in many states.
* The poverty level is the highest in 60 years.
* 72,000 stimulus checks were sent to dead people and prisoners.
* The administration cannot account for $100 billion of stimulus money.
* There will be no cost-of-living raise for 58 million Social Security recipients.
* The expiration of the Bush tax cuts will result in a tax hike of $2,100 to working families.
* No Democratic oversight (Rep. Barney Frank’s responsibility) has resulted in a massive mortgage crisis.
Both the president and the Democratic party have failed miserably. Let’s not make our children and grandchildren indentured servants to this radical administration.

In terms of Dem failure, I have the feeling it’s gonna be the “Big One”.

I think that he’s part of the tea party coalition.

He likes Christine O’Donnell the most.

He’ll be voting Republican in PA, but Christine speaks to him.

The reason I posted this article was I was doing a Christine search, and this was pretty good anecdotal about Christine.
