Christine O'Donnell: "Desperate" Obama Returning to Delaware on Election Eve
Saturday, October 30, 2010 | Kristinn

Posted on 10/30/2010 12:43:03 PM PDT by kristinn

Christine O'Donnell sent out an e-mail this afternoon saying Barack Obama will be returning to Delaware on Monday in a "desperate" bid to stave off the surging O'Donnell campaign.

We just got word that Barack Obama is coming back to Delaware on Monday. He’s seen the polls and our grassroots fundraising. He is desperate to win this seat! Our campaign is on a roll and we are so close to winning. The momentum is gathering at exactly the right time.

A recent poll showed O'Donnell narrowing opponent Chris Coons' lead to almost single digits from a high of 21%. O'Donnell surged from behind to victory in her primary campaign against Rep. Mike Castle.

There are fears among Democrats that the smear job against O'Donnell by Gawker this past week will turn women voters, who have been favoring Coons, to O'Donnell in a backlash against the abuse of women in the political process seen in recent campaigns.

No details of Obama's Delaware appearance have been announced.

However it contradicts a Los Angeles Times report published last night that said Obama was not making any campaign appearances Monday because it would interfere with Democrat get out the vote efforts.

Veteran Democratic organizers say that large presidential rallies come at a price. Time spent ensuring that Obama has a sizeable audience cuts into canvassing and phone banks — the essential work of juicing election day turnout. The White House said it is sensitive to this, noting that Obama won't attend any rallies on Monday, the day before the election, so as not to interfere with efforts to get Democrats to the polls.

Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity both reported yesterday that Obama was headed back to Delaware, but the e-mail by the O'Donnell campaign is the first confirmation from either campaign.

Man would I like to be there. It could be Obamas Waterloo. If she wins Obama is a dead duck.

I hope OBummer shows up and puts the “Crazy eyed picture of pure evil” look on them. That should put COD over the top ;^)

Christine O'Donnell has a good chance to pull this out in my opinion. I never once believed she would lose by the margin a lot of people were predicting. This is going to be a close race, but a race she can win. I think Obama is worried about just how bad a win for O'Donnell would look, and be, for his administration.

Every Conservative in the State of Delaware needs to keep working hard for O'Donnell, and never give up like the liberals in the media want you too. Those of us out of state can help her as well.

If the citizens of Delaware start the resistance Obama is lost. That State can really be his Iceberg. She wins and it would rip the side out of the Democommunist ship. I hope they are up to it.

I’ll say this about that. If Christine O’Donnell wins in Delaware the Democrat Party is over. As in done. As in finito. As in, “You need a new party.”

(I mean, people, we’re talking Delaware here. Delaware.)

Obama wouldn't be wasting his time if Del. was going to be blowout.

There are other Blue States where he is still popular with the Democrat base and are much in closer races.

He went to New Jersey three times as well, and it was thought unthinkable that the GOP could win there.

It’s not a stretch. You would have thought the same thing when Reagan won 49 states in 1984. The difference here is poking Obama in the eye is much better than Mondale.

I’ve mentioned this before, but if O’Donnell wins, I am going to be tuning in to MSNBC for the weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I can just see Chris Matthews now, crying softly while being held in the comforting embrace of Keith Olbermann.

Thanks for this insightful post. We have family near Dover so this race is of great interest to me. Christine winning would send shockwaves across the country and hopefully supress dem turnout on the west coast helping out Rossi, Fiorina and Whitman.

OTOH Obama has a huge ego and still hasn’t learned that his mere presence no longer guarantees victory. This is the guy who thought he could charm the world into giving him the Olympics just by gracing the selection committee with his presence. It will always be someone else’s fault. He has the ego of Nero and the maturity of a 7 year old.

I think one of the strategies of the liberals in the media is to make Republicans and\or Conservatives believe that Christine O'Donnell has absolutely no shot whatsoever at winning this Senate seat. They want to discourage her supporters so they don't volunteer, donate, vote, or get the word out about O'Donnell. They want to take the excitement away from her base, and unfortunately it has worked with some on our side.

No matter what the outcome of this race is though, it will not be the blowout for the Marxist Coons that the liberals in the media want you to believe it will be. As long as Christine O'Donnell supporters stay motivated and working hard for her victory she will be victorious this Tuesday.
