Ready to give voice to District 9’s need for jobs
“Charlotte Bergmann can win!”
The catchy slogan signals a Ninth Congressional District campaign that has catapulted this local mother and grandmother into national celebrity. Bergmann, a native Memphian, is the Republican who will face the Democratic incumbent Rep. Steve Cohen in Tuesday’s general election.

Bloggers, Tea Party groups, pundits and journalists have all been talking about her. She has been communicating regularly with constituents on Facebook, Web sites and at daily events.
Everywhere she goes, she says, people are all talking about the same thing: jobs.
“I believe that families in the Ninth Congressional District have suffered immensely from policies coming out of Washington,” said Bergmann, a former business owner and consultant, who talked recently with the Tri-State Defender. “Career politicians are out of touch with real people who are suffering because of this economy. People need jobs, and to create jobs, we must support businesses so profits and expansion are realized.”

Cohen is an honest-to-God Communist. I was really hoping Willie Wilbert would take him in the primary. Regardless, this would be an unimaginably stunning upset.

She will when the voters of the 9th become honest with themselves and stop following published program.
