Regarding Congressman Henry Waxman's OpEd in the Jewish Journal "Obama and Israel: The Truth" (24 Aug 2010), Charles "Chuck" Wilkerson, Waxman's Republican opponent in the Nov 2nd election takes issue with Mr. Waxman's attempt to portray President Obama as a concerned supporter of Israel.

Wilkerson as a Marine veteran (Korea '52) and engineer/owner/CEO of a successful small aerospace engineering consulting corporation based in California and is a long-time supporter of and, especially, an admirer of the resilience of the citizens and soldiers of Israel in their 62-year fight for survival among hostile neighboring Arab states. Wilkerson notes that "while U.S. policy toward Israel has traditionally been an openly friendly and supportive one for the most part, the current administration does not appear to be so inclined."

As a man who has studied the democratic party for 40 years it strikes me that they have become most peculiar. Not that they were anything to brag about in the time of the Vietnam War. At least there was still a vestige of sanity in the party, now it’s pure madhouse.

“Waxman Support for $900 Million in Aid to Hamas”

Enough said.

FYI:
FOX:Former President Jimmy Carter will urge the Obama administration to remove Hamas from the terrorist list, FOX News has learned.

Carter, a chief defender of the U.S.-designated terror group, said Tuesday he will meet with officials in the Obama administration in two days to discuss his latest trip to the Middle East.

Atlas Shrugs:
The State Department has a list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations, including Hamas, Hezbollah and Al Qaeda, that are designated by the secretary of state.

Sorry Rita, you are painting with too broad of a brush. The Jews here on FR are enemies of the 'Rats, just as strongly opposed as anyone else here. Most of us are very aware of polling data indicating that there is wide differential of support for Israel vs. the Palis among Republicans as opposed to the Dems: at least 80% of Pubbies support Israel, at best 50% of Dummies. One of the problems with the 'Rats is that they pander to what are statistically the most anti-semitic racial and ethnic groups in the country.

Actually, Jewish affiliation with the Republican Party is growing, as indicated by the strong membership advances in the Republican Jewish coalition (the major national organization of Jewish Republicans). You will see a double-digit swing generally in the Jewish vote for Senate and House candidates this year in competitive races. One might be disappointed in the magnitude of it, but remember that addictions are difficult break.

Henry ("Ratatouille") Waxman - that's Dennis Miller's nickname for him - thinks he can defend Obama's record on Israel because his district is safe. Eventually, though, those lies will come back to bite him.

In 2008 Waxman ran unopposed. I am very happy to be able to vote against him this year.
