(CNN) - A surprising new Senate poll in Delaware shows Republican Christine O'Donnell may be in striking distance of Democrat Chris Coons.
According to the new survey from Monmouth University, the surprise Republican nominee is only 10 points behind Coons, drawing 41 percent of the vote. In a previous Monmouth poll conducted two weeks ago, O'Donnell trailed by 19 points.
But the latest Monmouth survey differs substantially from two other recent polls, including a Farleigh Dickinson survey released Thursday that showed a 21-point advantage for Coons and a CNN/Time poll released earlier this month that indicated a 19-point lead for Coons.
The latest Monmouth poll surveyed 1,171 voters between October 25-27 and carries a sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

karl, quick, knock her down a few pegs before she wins
</sarcasm>
In my opinion, Obama has been concentrating on this race to be able to crow his “Political Effectiveness” in certain races after the election.
If Coons loses this, the Schadenfreude on the left, and in the Major Media, will be a sight to behold!!!
being 10 point down and only 3 days remaining is quite the challenge...but sure hope she can defeat that marxist!
Rush stated that Obama is coming back to Delaware to campaign for Coons. He also stated that Coons has backed out of the remainder of the debates.
The difference may turn out to be the likes of Rove etc. dissing Christine.
The sympathy vote because of the smear will be what puts her over.
Lets not cluck like chickens before they’re born. Or lets not hatch our chickens after plucking them. Or something like that.
And if she does win, we had better never, ever, EVER hear the words "but X can't win because he/she is a conservative" again!!!!
How’re those dirty tricks working out for there, liberals?
Hey Gawker! Thanks!
At this late point in the campaign, there is little else that can be done. I understand that COD is out there meeting and greeting and that is very good, but 10 points down is a huge deficit. Moreover, losing by one vote is as good as losing by thousands.
So...DE....are you listening??? IT'S ALL ABOUT TURNOUT!
She will win.
OK Folks,
Remind me again how many points Christine was down against Mike Castle a few days prior to the primaries?
Remind me again how many points Scott Brown was down against Martha Coakley a few days prior to the Massachusetts Senate elections?
Could somebody PLEASE get Joy Behar to quickly open her yap about Christine? Please!
Go, Christine, GO-!!!
I know that Brown was down 15 points in a Boston Globe poll one week before the election.
Come on Delaware. Don’t allow yourselves to be lackies for the Dummies.
Please elect O”Donnell!
Pretty Please!!!
Christine said last night on Hannity that Coons had cancelled his appearance in the last two Debates. Hey Christine: Put an empty chair there with his name and go ahead and have the debate.
RE: I know that Brown was down 15 points in a Boston Globe poll one week before the election.
Thanks for the reminder. And yet, he won by a comfortable margin (I believe 52-48). No reason the same can’t happen in Delaware.
Well, maybe not, but I can daydream a bit right?
Regards
