There was a time when FreeRepublic used to frown upon such rudeness, but the “gays in the military” threads bring out the worst in folks.

Amen. And discussions actually involve discussing, not lame-brain insinuations about one’s parenting skills or day dreams about another’s sexual preference - all based on something another party never said. I would call it ‘childish’, but thankfully most children have more decency than all that.
It’s not just on the homo threads, unfortunately.
And I’d prefer those who push the homosexual agenda would simply leave FR. Saves wear and tear on my zot button.
