Miami Gardens, FL -- Kendrick Meek campaign manager Abe Dyk released the following statement regarding the Politico article.
"The article is not true. Kendrick Meek was never dropping out of this race, is never dropping out of this race, and will never drop out of this race. Kendrick Meek will always stand up for the middle class and will not leave Floridians a choice between two lifelong conservative Republicans who only stand with the special interests. Kendrick is the Democratic nominee so if anyone should drop out, it's Charlie Crist."
Crist, we know, lies. Clinton, we know, lies.
Kendrick Meek may be a liberal hack, but as far as I know, he is an honest man.
Meek is telling the truth. I would think.
"Honest" and "liberal hack" are two terms that just don't go together.
I disagree with every single thing he stands fore, but I must say Kendrick Meek has surprised me in this campaign. He way outperformed Crist in the debates, and showed a lot of passion. His backbone in standing up to racists like Bill Clinton, who is pressuring him to be a good little n***a and walk away is admirable.
As a character said the other night on THE GOOD WIFE, “The only thing uglier than a backroom deal is a backroom deal that doesn’t work.”
You can be honest and be a liberal. Liberals are wrong, but they can be truthful in their dealings....Meek strikes me as such a man.
I know political liberals who are honest with me....hell, I used to be one. :)
Seems Politico has been pushing this story for a couple weeks now. Each time Meeks categorically denies any such action on his part. Politico attempting to create the “self fulfilling prophesy”?
Crist is despicable. So is Murkowski. Two losers cut from the same cloth.
As the story goes, Clinton (and Crist) ONLY ASKED Meeks to drop out.
Since Meeks never did actually drop out, his story and his statement above - are completely compatible with Clinton’s (”I only asked him to drop out”) version of the story.
“””and will not leave Floridians a choice between two lifelong conservative Republicans”””
Proof that Meeks lies.
Meek seems like a pretty classy guy, actually. I cannot help thinking that maybe if we explain to him just what liberalism has done to blacks, he just might join our side.
The name is still on the ballot and why would minorities trust Crist now more than when he had an R by his name?
The statement completely ignores the issue of whether or not Meek as approached by Clinton and offered a deal to drop out. So, I assume that that part of the story is true.
Dem Headquarters:
“This job is so dirty the SEIU won’t touch it, call Politico!”
(sorry)
Meeks is a Democrat but may be a sincere Democrat. Crist is just another narcissitic politician who refuses to believe the Republican Party would reject him. This clown won election after election running on Republican principles; possibly one or two conservative principles. Elect him Governor and he goes all Arnold on us. He then wonders why we don’t want him. There can only be one reason he opted for the Senate rather than what some thought was a lock-in for a second term as Governor. That lock-in may have been a little squishy. After his Global Warming summit, the traditional Republicans were not amused.
Meeks is almost as good at parsing his misleading statements as the master Bill Clinton. All 3 are lying. I am sure Clinton asked him to drop out and I will bet Meeks initially accepted the job Clinton offered him and then had a change of heart.
But can you be honest and a liberal hack?
