Democrat Shuler Wants to Run for House Speaker(Think somebody will tell him his own job is gone?)

You can put this in the wishful thinking department. North Carolina Democratic Rep. Heath Shuler says he wants to run for House speaker, Politico reports. Given that Republicans are expected to easily take back control of the House next week, Shuler might want to start thinking about 2012 if he’s lucky enough to hold his seat Tuesday.

He’s hoping to take over from current speaker Nancy Pelosi. “If there is no viable alternative, I will be running for speaker of the House,” Shuler said during a radio debate with Republican Jeff Miller, the Asheville Citizen-Times reported.

“I can do as good a job as anybody in the U.S. Congress because I can actually bring people together,” Shuler says.

“I can bring people together to the table to talk about the issues and not about the political structure and that’s what's destroying the whole process in Washington — the politics,” he adds.

Some Democrats may call themselves Blue Dogs.

Truth is, they are all the same.

Vain and Naive at the same time.

He’ll be just as effective as House Speaker as he was as an NFL Quarterback.

“NFL Quarterback”
This guy is a walking, breathing example of the Peter Principle.

I listened to portions of that debate here in WNC on the Take a Stand with Matt Mattan radio program yesterday. He’s floated the idea previously but that was his clearest pronouncement yet. His opponent is trying to tie him to Nancy Pelosi and speculation is he was using the announcement as a ploy to put as much distance between himself and Pelosi as possible because it’s a lead pipe cinch he couldn’t win the speakership. Even if the Dems did hold the House.

Shuler is a run of the mill disgusting vile Democrat. An enemy of the USA. There is no such thing as a decent registered Democrat.

The truth be told, the Blue Dogs could have caucused with the Republicans and elected one of their own as speaker, plus all major committee assignments. ObamaCare and much of the crap too many of them rubberstamped would not have passed. And they would not have been facing a massive thinning of their ranks.

But when push came to shove, they took their orders from Nancy Pelosi and its a bit tough to distance themselves from her now that TSHHTF.

I can just imagine what our beloved Congressman Billybob would write about this little tidbit from Shuler. We miss you, John!

And I will be running for Emperor of Mars. I know the position will be open as soon as the little green men leave, and I think I can do a good job.
