Rove: Huckabee apologized
Ben Smith
October 28, 2010
Karl Rove told a New York audience today that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee e-mailed him to apologize for a public shot at the former White House adviser.
Huckabee, in the course of denouncing "elitism" in the Republican Establishment, told WABC's Aaron Klein that he was "disappointed" in Karl Rove's dismissal of Christine O'Donnell.
Speaking to the Heritage Foundation in New York today, Rove was asked about the comment. Per The Nation's Neima Jahromi, whose outlet asked the question, Rove said Huckabee had apologized for the jab.
Rove has become a target for parts of the right since public spats with Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh, but Huckabee has not been a particular ally of Palin's and an aide suggested to me early in the week that he hadn't intended his comment as harsh criticism.

I think Karl Rove’s a smart fellow, but I really hate he axed Christine O'Donnell. O'Donnell is a gutsy gal who's fought a good battle without significant help from the GOP. She's a newby who made lots of mistakes, but, heck, who wouldn't have? The silly things the Dems picked at were inconsequential and, it seemed to me, totally explainable. Young people without much financial backing occasionally get off the track. Unlike the Kennedys, Christine had to face the music by herself and get sorted out the best she could.
Nobody else had the guts to run when Christine threw her hat in the ring; she deserved better support from conservatives.

I wonder if “buck up” wasn’t a secret pun? In any case, it’s the perfect non-rebuke!

Rove could be lying or taking Huckster's comments out of context. Then again, it could be Rove and Huckster's attempt to help Huckster and destroy Palin. Obviously, Rove despises Palin.

Rove and Huck outed themselves as the Bend-Over-For-The-Dems, country club republicans they are. Don’t go blaming FReepers who are no longer playing nice. That ship has sailed.

It seems that all we know at this point is that Rove claims that Huck apologized. On such thin evidence, I provisionally disbelieve that Huck apologized. However, if Huck denies it, I won't know whom to believe.

"Now when is the Rove going to apologize to ODonnell????" That will be when Romney apologizes to Gov. Palin
and the American people.

Or better still, when is Mr. Rove going to apologize AND offer help and money these last few days. Christine O'Donnell may never recover from Mr. Rove’s perfidy, but if she does, she could develop into a powerhouse.

It is a discussion and we are discussing it. By the way you must have missed the memo about this being “RINO hunting season”.

I won’t say anything about watching that ship sail away and being left behind, marooned on the shore. No, I won’t.

Huckabee has found his lot in life as a Talk Show Host. It's obvious he's too much of a wuss to be the President.

Well, maybe Romney will apologize after Huckleberry apologizes to him for that idiotic “Mormons believe Christ is the brother of Satan” comment Huckleberry made which helped sandbag Romney and get that unelectable nasty old s.o.b. McCain chosen in the primary to run an winnable race with Obama.
Had Romney been nominated back in 2008, the GOP would have had a better crack at blowing away Obama. Certainly a far better chance than would have happened had Huckleberry made his unfortunate comment which helped put McCain in the seat as the GOP nominee.

I dispise Rove. I think the man is a political catastrophe who helped ruin Bush’s legacy with his advice.
The fact that FOX continues to provide this man with a forum distresses me to no end.
