I barely knew Christine when she turned up at my door at around eight o'clock on the night of Halloween. We'd met for the first and only time three months earlier when my two roommates and I signed the lease on our apartment: Christine's aunt owned the place we were moving into, and she happened to be up from Delaware visiting at the time. But we'd only spent about five minutes together that day and we hadn't spoken much, and I hadn't thought of her since.
Yet here she was standing outside my door with a friend. And both of them were pretty tipsy.
She asked if she and her friend could come inside our apartment to change into their costumes. She couldn't change at her aunt's place, she said, because she was sleeping and she didn't want to wake her up. Would we mind if she used our bathroom instead?
It was a pretty strange request. Sure, weird stuff happens on Halloween, but I barely knew her, and it isn't every day that someone shows up at your front door and asks to change into their ladybug costume. But I told her it was fine and she was welcome to use our place to get ready.

The fact is, there ARE other options. A vote for Earl Lofland is not a vote for Coons or O’Donnell. It’s a vote for Earl Lofland.
No one here is advocating a vote for Coons. There are other options, whether you like those options or not. That’s why we have free elections in this country. I’m not telling you not to vote for O’Donnell. I’m telling you that I don’t like her, I don’t believe her, and I won’t support her. Why would you deny me that choice?
Some democrat party paid operative gets hold of some totally innocuous photos at a party and hallucinates up the usual democrat party 5-days-before-an-election anonymous hit piece.

I looked at the pics and I’ve seen intoxicated, she looks like she is laughing and having fun — fully clothed BTW — and she doesn’t look impaired to me in the pics... you want to see impaired look at the pics the National Enquirer published of Jenna Bush back in her college days when she was working in Los Angeles one summer........ that is what impairment looks like.
Hey, I'm not trying to take your rights away. The government's got that covered. If you honestly don't think she'll do ok. Then don't vote for her. I honestly don't think most of the people who will be elected will be principled conservatives. That's your job as a citizen. You have to pressure them to vote the way you want them to. That means the ones who stray to the left will have to be defeated in the primaries in '12. I still want to see the Dems get a serious beating on Tuesday. I'm watching this race from afar and if you think those things are substantive, then you need to follow your conscience.
I've been thinking she's a political newbie who's a typical woman who tries to make herself look better by telling people what she thinks they want to hear. That usually means lying about things like sex for women (underreporting by 2/3).
In summary, I've been watching this from afar without any prior knowledge of her but with great skepticism of negative things I hear in the media. Therefore, I've accepted that she's a flawed person, but probably a conservative who can be made to vote the right way - if the people keep her in line.
