Bush should sit down and shut up before he does even more damage.

Speaking of who should sit down and shut up before they do more damage, I really never want to hear from sour, perpetually (should I say professionally) disgruntled people like you again in my lifetime. Here's some of the "greatest hits" of the so-called "real" conservative movement:

-->Sticking your noses in the Terry Schiavo case, and attempting to use government to force your religious and anti-science beliefs about end-of-life issues onto the general population.

--> Intelligent design, nothing but a dishonest attempt at forcing so-called creation "science" into school curriculums.

--> Not just anti-evolution, but anti-science pretty much across the board.

--> Throwing constitutional protections out the window while convicting Gary Condit for murdering Chandra Levy simply because he is a Democrat. For those of you who aren't aware of the latest news about this case, there is someone on trial right now for her murder, and his name is NOT Gary Condit.

--> Debating the illegal immigration issue in such a ham-fisted, overly strident way that millions of Hispanics are now convinced Republicans hate them.

--> Turning on Harriet Miers in a ham-fisted, overly strident, even cruel way, thereby reinforcing the seriously flawed, even dangerous notion that only nominees from elite law schools like Harvard should be nominated to the Supreme Court.

--> Hunting "RINO's" everywhere in 2008 to the point that all we were left with as the Republican nominee in was John McCain, the worst possible nominee.

--> Failing to see the threat posed by Obama throughout all of late 2007 and early 2008. So-called "real" conservatives were busy then fighting the battles of the 1990's instead of looking forward. It was all about stopping Hillary, not realizing she actually would have been a safer -- not better, just safer -- president than Obama.

--> Here in California, recalling Gray Davis. All that did was allow our Marxist legislature to hide behind a true nominal Republican in Arnold Schwarzenegger.

--> Here in California, failing to capitalize on Republicans taking control in the Assembly for the first time in practically forever. Riding the 1994 wave, Republicans gained a 41 to 39 majority in the Assembly, whereupon the so-called "real" conservatives began squabbling with "moderates" over who should be speaker. They squabbled for two solid years, lost the majority in 1996 and have never come close to regaining it since. They totally blew the opportunity to be in the majority during the all-important redistricting period at the end of the decade.

--> Constantly whining about how the media "picks" Republican candidates, when it's you, self-professed "real" conservatives who (1) hate anyone who doesn't march in lockstep with your group-think, and (2) do the voting in primaries.

I could go on and on, but time is fleeting.
