GOP's California Gubernatorial Candidate Plays Catch-Up With Sophisticated Voter-Turnout Effort in Campaign's Final Days.

OAKLAND, Calif.—Volunteers for Republican Meg Whitman's campaign for California governor are calling voters in Farsi, Korean and two Chinese dialects. They are canvassing Latino voters in East Los Angeles.

Ms. Whitman, trailing in every poll, has rolled out a big get-out-the-vote operation, funded with part of the $162 million she has spent on the race so far. The effort is a particularly sophisticated version of voter-mobilization pushes candidates and parties are ratcheting up with less than a week before Election Day.

Many candidates believe get-out-the-vote drives could hold the key to victory, especially in close races such as Senate contests in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Colorado, Washington and Illinois.

I hope she wins-not looking forward to having complete democratic control if MoonBeam wins-the thought gives me a big headache and makes me want to eat brownies and or cookies

I didn’t see mention of how the Whitman campaign will deal with the inevitable Demonrat vote fraud that will spell the difference even if she is able to close the gap. It would be sad in the extreme if that’s what plays out.

Jerry Brown has been running one “H” of a saturation campaign. He really wants to get back in there and finish screwing up this State.

Everywhere in the State of California things are messed up, and if one were to turn over whatever it is that is messed up, one will find a likeness of Kilroy with a note that “Jerry Brown was here”.

He did more to screw up this State the first couple of goes. I cannot understand why anybody would open the door, and roll out the carpet for the bastard once again.

Whitman ain’t no Reagan, but she’s NOT Jerry Brown.

I hope her funded ground game works. The already existing tea party ground game that she didn’t want to associate with will vote for her and the more Republicans and Independents we can get to the polls, the better. Jerry Brown for another four years is more punishment than I can imagine.

If Brown wins, the only good business in California to own is a moving van company as the productive folks in the state set their sites on saner pastures.

Thanks, GOP Lady. Nice to see Whitman is getting exposure in the prestigious WSJ. I have seen some beautiful campaign ads for MEG 2010 on Spanish-language television... It’s an uphill fight, but we shall see.
