I didn’t realize S. Burger ever reached the point of plea bargain. I thought he was just allowed to slip off the radar screen without even that much, courtesy of the complicit media.

Look, this was done in a really slick manner. The announcement that all of "W"'s missing records had been found was made right before the announcement that a deal had been made with Sandy B.

The Leftwing MSM had absolutely no interest in a discovery that "W"'s records had been found and that he had clearly done all his required service ~ as he had, in fact, claimed.

On the other hand, they were caught flatfooted by Sandy B's deal.

I may have been the only person in America who went immediately to Sandy B's biography on the net where I quickly discovered two things of great interest. (1) That he'd been an Army Reservist and he specialized in Reserve Officer personnel records. (2) That he got an early out to start attending Harvard law school.

Someone somewhere mentioned that Sandy B. took all the military records training you could get EXCEPT for dental records, but he'd been scheduled for that training when he got his early out.

Amazing stuff on the net, eh?!

It was that last fact that ID'd him as the puke who'd misfiled "W"'s records ~ since those were the ONLY military records that "W" had that were INTACT and they totally supported his own personal claims to service, where he was during his service, and what he was doing.

Sandy didn't know how to deal with the dental records ~ didn't even know the dentists keep them!

Now, do we have some eyewitnesses to Sandy Burger's surreptitious entry into the Air Force records center? Well, yes, Lt. Col. Bill Burkett claimed that he was present when some well-dressed gentlemen came to the records center and went back in the files. He identified one of them as Carl Rove!

Let's say Burkett told the truth about this, we might well imagine that at that time ~ 1998 or so, that Carl Rove probably couldn't easily get into that records center. On the other hand Samuel Richard "Sandy" Berger was United States National Security Advisor, under President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001, did have such access ~ and not just to State Department but also Department of Defense files.

I think it was a simple failure on Burkett's part to recognize Sandy Berger rather than Karl Rove ~ who at that time simply did not have access to that particular records center where Burkett was doing Reserve duty.

You'll notice Sandy has pretty much disappeared. At the same time Karl is still drawing down the big bucks pontificating about politics.

I have no idea what happened to Burkett, but he could have been famous and rich and well respected if he hadn't mistaken Berger for Rove!
