As Paul's car is pulling up, she pushes her way through the crowd, and attempts to shove an object (her sign) into the car into Paul's lap. She appears to have been trying VERY hard to convince the people around her that she was engaging in an attempted assassination. She succeeded.
If you are restraining someone, you do so - hold them down.
You do not repeatedly push them into the concrete. You just hold them down.
How hard is this to understand?
Thanks for the ping. I watched the film of her trying to get at Rand and then I watched (again) the film of her being pushed to the ground. The whole thing makes a lot more sense now if you understand that the two events are a single event.
They wrestled her to the ground immediately after her attempt to get at Rand. I understand why now. They held her down, someone kept saying “get the police, get the police”. Then the dufus walked over and put his foot on her and shoved, and someone else says, “none of that!” and repeated it, “none of that!”, and the dufus walked away.
I was thinking before, surely if someone was stomping on the girl (even if she was a disruptor) someone else would have come to her aid. In watching the film again, sure enough someone did, which is why dufus walked away.
This goes back to an earlier comment I made, that in every public meeting they should have more than one videocam rolling at all times so that when something like this happens, and its going to happen more and more, the other side is going to try and make it happen, its important that we have a complete tape of the event and not just the edited version that turns up on you-tube.
