Charles Town, WV (CNN) - As he stumps for a string of Republicans in increasingly bitter races, Sen. John McCain warned candidates against overconfidence and defended recent searing attacks on his Democratic colleagues.
"These are harsh times," he said, in response to a reporter's question about his criticism of Sen. Barbara Boxer and a conference call in which he slammed Sen. Patty Murray over the use of earmarks.

Bush, the Dems in congress, Clinton, and the Wall Street swine all contributed, but Bush (who was probably in over his head WRT Wall Street) got the blame for all of them. I know that's the way it works.
"A new beginning ..Bla-Bla-Bla" when it was the same plan as the last guy.

The Woodpecker provides a nice noisy target to rally against and personalize, on the other hand the termites destroy the house from within quietly till it collapses.
Bush, Pelosi, and Obama all did a tremendous amount of damage, by both overt and covert means.
If Bush did not foresee the consequences of his actions (and inactions), the damage done is still huge. We should not support a GOP POTUS candidate who will, knowingly or not, continue theft via bailouts, and fail to control other govt. spending.
