President Obama is spending the next week crisscrossing the country in support of Democratic candidates before this year's midterm elections. While the president may do a great job of energizing the base, he may not be able to convert any Independents who have yet to decide for whom they will vote. Currently, two-thirds of Americans (67%) have a negative opinion of the job President Obama is doing while just over one-third (37%) have a positive opinion. This continues the president's downward trend and he is now at the lowest job approval rating of his presidency. These are some of the results of The Harris Poll of 3,084 adults surveyed online between October 11 and 18, 2010 by Harris Interactive. It's perhaps not surprising that nine in ten Republicans (90%) and Conservatives (89%) give the job the president is doing negative ratings. What may be surprising is that one-third of Democrats (34%) and Liberals (33%) also give him negative ratings, as do seven in ten Independents (70%) and six in ten Moderates (60%). Americans who give the president the highest positive ratings are those with a post-graduate education (48%), a college education (47%), and those living in the West (42%). On the other end of the spectrum, almost three-quarters of those with a high school education or less (72%) and two thirds of Midwesterners (66%) and Southerners (66%) give the President negative marks on his overall job.

Good. Maybe all of that campaigning that he did will severely hurt the ‘Rats chances.
I don’t know how it can drop much more than 37%.
When it was 42% a lot of FReepers said if the media is admitting it’s 42%, then it’s probably much lower. And I think 37% is probably pretty accurate.
At the most it will drop a few more percentage points, but given about a third of the country is made up of hardcore leftists, I doubt it will drop much more.
104%. Either the error bars are huge or the math is journalism school math.
Thank the Tea Party Movement and sites like FreeRepublic.com for the voices of the American people finally being heard. In the past the media drowned us out. No more!
The 67 and 37 are not exact. In fact, they said “almost one third” which is 33.3333 -—— and two thirds is 66.66666 ——. So if it is not quite 33.3333 that probably explains the difference.
His recent hate speech has probably driven his miserable ratings down. How dare he tell Hispanics that they have to defeat their enemies (voters opposed to open borders and amnesty). Then he tells Republicans that they will have to sit in the back [of the bus] whatever the election results.
Most of those 37% are not living persons.
Obama is making more and more extreme and irrational statements. I think he’s becoming unglued. I hope he soon loses it completely, on national TV, and we see the honkies in white coats taking him away. What fun that would be.
He is also the Lowest person ever to squat in the white house.
Pigeon droppings!!!
And this is with the treasonous MSM telling us every minute of every day what a wonderful job he's doing!
How many of us have ever been called to answer poll questions?
See? It’s probably worse than they’re saying.
The White House is firing back at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell after he told the National Journal that “the single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”
With his usual sarcastic tone, spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters “maybe Senator McConnell is interested in running for President.”
The White House believes that fixing the ailing economy is the single most important thing, so top aides jumped at the chance to paint McConnell’s comments as more business as usual, and part of the problem that landed the “car in the ditch.”
Gee, do you think Obama’s plunging approval rating might have anything to do with his “unpresidential” stature? I mean, at some point, presidents need to quit campaigning and start governing. Didn’t they teach him anything in Harvard/Occidental/Columbia?
Turns out, he’s the president of the Democrats, not the nation. It’s becoming more and more obvious that he, like his liberal cohorts, hates all thing Republican!
We are supposed to sit in the back of the bus? What a racist remark by the supposed leader of the free world, except that he can’t lead.
And speaking of statistics, a surprising number from 60 Minutes says that the real unemployment rate is 17.5%!!!! Wow. Never thought I’d see 60 Minutes join the Truth Squad.
‘Bout time. Still not going to watch them. Haven’t for years since they got to be so blathering liberal.
Which makes 104%. That extra 4% coming from those seven states of 0bama's mind? Let's see: The State of the graveyard, the State of the Penitentiary, the State of the Multiple Vote, the State of the Undocumented Alien, the State of people who don't exist, the State of peoples' pets, the State of underage voters. Ahh... now it all makes sense.
Yes
Obama frequently speaks like a brat child. There are many examples of this kind of childish bombastic speech.
“I can’t walk around with my birth certificate stuck to my forehead!” I mean, like, gosh dude...
“I can’t suck it up with a straw!”
“They talk about me like I’m a dog!”
The Republicans drove the economy in a ditch. With alligators in it. And, and, an now they want the keys back with special interests riding shotgun. They ain’t getting the keys back ‘cause they don’t have their learners permit up to date. And they are night driving restricted. They want to try to get a CDL certification but the tires are all flat! When was the last time they changed the oil? Or checked the wiper fluid? And on and on and on with STUPID idiotic metaphors that go nowhere. This kind of crap might work if you were running for class president in the sixth grade or if you were auditioning for a spot on ‘The Office’. Can anyone imagine a military general or corporate CEO talking in these nonsensical terms? The guy is mentally stunted.
“I am not king(yet)”, he says, “attack your enemies!”
The guy is a nut.
Add to that a lot of actions that would be irrational for a psychologically normal DemonRat politician who wants to win elections and advance his own cause. His and Moochelle's gross extravagance on, or mostly on, the taxpayers' dime in the middle of the recession, that can only be viewed as an expression of total, elitist contempt for America and Americans is one example. Another is dissing the DemonRat candidate for governor of Rhode Island, which caused that man to tell the Illegal to go shove it. All of that conduct raises serious questions about the Illegal's mental state. Indeed, there's no politically rational reason for a sane politician, wanting to advance his own and his party's agendas, to do such things. I agree with you. I, too, think he's coming unglued.
The reason, IMHO, is his handlers and controllers paved the way for him, eliminating all serious opposition, all he way to the White House. Having never suffered "the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" the way most politicians who become president do, he's mentally unable to cope with reversals and opposition the way such individuals do and is gradually disintegrating. It turns out there are real, compelling psychological, political, and governmental reasons for insisting on presidential candidates having real, transparent backgrounds showing genuine experience before giving any one of them the presidency.
I am wondering if this is a record for a president at this stage of his term...or if any recent president had a lower approval rating at the mid-terms. I don't recall any president falling so fast and so low, so quickly -- without some major event anyway...like declaring war...or something huge that divided the country. Obama seems to have made enemies on so many fronts...the economy, healthcare, foreign relations, taxes, etc. He just has not had really good support on anything, except from die hard socialistic/Marxist/Communist lovers and his "base" group of racial kin.
Nothing he took the trouble to learn. After all, there's a reason why we haven't been allowed to see his records.
