Lolita Geisha
are you illiterate? read those two words and tell me what the hell you think they mean.
In this case the term “Lolita” has nothing to do with the book, which is how I am assuming you are taking it.
The “Lolita” style (as it is called) is extremely popular in Japan and some of the more trendy and/or gothy/vintagey sub-cultures in America, it has nothing to do with any kind of sexual connotation. You can go online and google “lolita dresses” and you will find alot of different dresses. I myself have a couple. Admittedly, they do not look like the dress in that picture, but I personally think that name was chosen for the Japanese connotations that it has.
I think Huck’s point was that HS cheerleaders have some immodest attire as well.
And chae is right regarding fashion usage of those terms.
But I think we’re all in agreement. Revealing dresses on girl children (or boy children !) are highly inappropriate.
Yes, Halloween is for kids. And don’t discount the poor houses. When my daughter was little, her best friend’s parents wanted to take the kids to the “rich” part of our neighorhood.
When they returned, footsore and with very little candy, we went through OUR neighborhood, where lots of homes were “poor”. My daughter’s bag was overflowing after the first block !
18 years later, as over 60% of our neighbors now live in new $400K - $500K “townhomes”, the pickings are a little slimmer. Heck, they can hardly afford the mortgage and the payments on their Beemers !
Moral: don’t discount the “poor” homes on Halloween.
Me, I’m going to give out dollar bills. I don’t get enough kids to matter, and I won’t have leftover candy around to make me fatter.
