When I first started traveling the back woods of Asia in the early 70’s we used a DDT powder called “Moms” from the Philippines to sprinkle in the beds of the guest houses and poor hotels we stayed in the smaller places. It was recommended to me by an old German Doctor in Manila.
Wish I had some left for our upcoming travels to the East Coast.

Actual Science shows that it is perfectly safe and the claims of it being a carcinogen are as fraudulent as CO2 being a considered pollutant; but regardless DDT could save millions in Africa from Malaria, but Liberal Junk Science trumps little brown people and is the religion of the Media and so, “LET THE BED BUGS BITE” :)
What about Buhach. It is a powered that miners during the gold rush used it is flowers pyrethian? You can sprinkle it on your dog for fleas.
