WASHINGTONMore than half the members of the Blue Dog Coalitionthe organization of moderate to conservative Democrats in the Houseare in peril in next week's election, a stark indicator of how the balloting could produce a Congress even more polarized than the current one.
The Blue Dogs are often seen as a kind of human bridge, connecting left and right in the House. But that bridge is imperiled by the coming Republican wave in midterm elections, the most stark example of how the midterms are likely to weaken Capitol Hill's political center.
Of 54 Blue Dogs in the House, six already have retired or decided to seek other offices. Of those trying to stay, 39 are in competitive races, according to the Cook Political Report, and 22 of those are in pure toss-ups.
Among those facing the toughest races are some of the Blue Dog Coalition's leaders. Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin of South Dakota, one of the co-chairs of the group, is locked in a contest with State Rep. Kristi Noem; in the most recent polling earlier this month, conducting by Rasmussen Reports, Ms. Herseth Sandlin trailed 47% to 43%.

No such Animal...
Anyone who has not left todays democrat party in disgust with its radical bolshevism is just a hypocrite.
There is no such thing as a conservative democrat...as there is no such thing as a moderate muslim.
No such thing as moderate or conservative Democrats.
SURPRISE !!!! so called Blue Dog Democrats ARE NOT CONSERVATIVE in any manner or form — maybe 50 years ago — BUT NOT NOW... so too bad - so sad for Pretend Conservative DEMS — screw them....
Walking the fence is always dangerous. RINOS and “Blue Dogs” are both getting thrown under the bus. Why vote for a stealth Democrat or a “talks like a Republican” when you can vote for the real thing?
If the “human bridge” is endangered, it is because its owners the Dims refused to maintain it. The Dims are who put all these guys at risk.
Sometimes when you thin the herd, the herd loses critical mass.
Ain't nuthin in the middle of the road but yellar lines and dead armadillos!
"Blue Dogs" are merely a convenient myth for Republicans to believe in....
Our Mike Thompson, Calif 1st district is considered a Blue Dog but votes 98% with the liberals...
Our Ike Skelton, democrat from the Missouri 4th District, votes with Pelosi 95 percent of the time. He voted for the bailouts and cap-and-trade. I think what got me was when I called his office, his staff was so arrogant.
He is running ads touting that he did not vote for Obamacare, but if Nancy had needed his vote I am sure he would have been there for her since he enjoys his status on the Armed Forces committee.
This race has moved from leaning Democrate to tossup, but there are a lot of Republicans out there who think he is conservative. This man has been in office since 1977. I am voting for Vicky Hartzler and every Republican, even down to county and city offices this year.

Blue dog that chased the Pelosimobile now a dead dog.
Let their political deaths be particularly unpleasant and humiliating ones.
The moderate/Blue Dog Democrats must share the same hotel with the moderate Islamists - it’s a very small hotel and it’s never sold out, in fact, most of the rooms are usually available.

“Blue Dogs” turned out to be pink and on Nancy’s leash.
A liberal like Baron Hill being elected to the leadership of this so-called "Blue Dog coalition" certainly makes the description of them as "moderate to conservative" beyond laughable.
Count one of these Blue losers gone. I really hate Patrick Murphy(D-PA08). Poll out today looks great.
