Black-on-black crime remains at epidemic levels and black children continue to suffer in bad schools. Doesn't the organization have better things to worry about?
The gulf between the priorities of civil rights leaders and the actual needs of the people they claim to represent has been growing for decades. And the trend continues with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's release of "Tea Party Nationalism."
The NAACP passed a resolution in July condemning "racist elements and activities" in the tea party. Now it has issued a report that accuses the movement of giving a "platform to anti-Semites, racists and bigots."
The report based its findings in part on tea party members' writings, including "blog posts and tweets," and on observations at tea party rallies. "It would be a mistake to claim that all tea partiers are nativist vigilantes or racists of one stripe or another," write the authors, but "all of the tea party factions have had problems in these areas." How's that for a smear.
Given that the tea party—a diffuse network of local groups with no central leadership—focuses not on race but on limited government, the NAACP's obsession with the movement might seem odd. And given the real challenges facing black Americans today, the fact that the nation's largest civil rights group is devoting time and resources to monitoring Sarah Palin rallies for Confederate flags is also rather sad.

White is equal amounts of all visible wavelengths. Black is the absence of all visible wavelengths.
At least that is what I remember of 7th grade science from 44 years ago.

NAACP needs to do a little work on getting a new message together instead of looking for the bogeyman, and asking for handouts.
There are a lot more black males 18-24 in prison than there are in college. Might be a better starting point if they ever put forth some real effort.

That's because young black men were ridiculously overrepresented in the violent-offender population in the 80's, 90's, and (I'm taking a WAG here) the last 10 years as well.
In the early 90's, DoJ stats had them committing 3/4's of all murders. DoJ tried to cover up for them, btw, but when you look at the 24% or so "unknown ethnicity" murderers who were killing about 3,000 nonblack victims per year, their "ethic identity" was easily revealed as black, by comparison with stats for very similar violent crimes in which the assailed persons survived to give witness statements.
Thus the black-on-nonblack versus nonblack-on-black murder (or "murdering out") ratio in those years was about 6.66:1, i.e. 6000 to 900.
Eleven percent of the population was committing 75% of the murders. That's an overrepresentation of 682% (check my arithmetic, guys). Talk about overachievers.
One day- hopefully soon—the younger members of the NAACP will wake up & realize that they have been led down the garden path for years by the likes of Jesse Jackson & Rangle & Al Sharpton & MILLION MAN MARCH stuff.
They need to dump these phonies who have spent years doing nothing more than extorting money & products from producing people of this country. We are tired of having our pockets picked by common thieves. ENOUGH.
The NAACP could itself a favor in getting J C Watts & other real leaders to re-organize & shape up the entire NAACP. Drag them into the 21st Century.

When jesse jackson was caught on tape saying he was going to cut O’Slammy’s _@!!$ off, for a while there I had hope that maybe the Kenyan would do something meaningful in the area of race relations. Subsequent events proved the opposite to be true.
Also, GOP_Lady, puuulllleeeeezzzeeee don’t make me look at those two faces this early in the morning - that’s more than I can handle!!
