New Poll Has Christine O'Donnell Within 6%
Tea Party Express E-Mail | 10/24/2010 | Tea Party Express

Posted on 10/24/2010 12:07:52 PM PDT by rob777

I got the following e-mail from the Tea Party Express and wondered if others had heard of a poll showing Christine this close.

Stunning news to report today, fellow patriots. A brand new poll has Christine O'Donnell surging to within 6% of her Democrat challenger, Chris Coons.

This late-in-the-campaign surge replicates her surge in the polls in the GOP primary, when everyone had written her off and said she could never win.

She proved the so-called "experts" wrong before and she seems poised to do so again!

With just 10 days left until Election Day, we would love nothing more than to defeat Barack Obama's and Harry Reid's candidate, Chris Coons, and give the media heartburn by electing Christine O'Donnell to the U.S. Senate.

But now we've got to give it everything we've got because it seems the national Republican Party has abandoned her and is refusing to put money into her campaign. But we here at the Tea Party Express aren't abandoning Christine O'Donnell, and we're committed to helping her win, just as we did in the primary.

Usually if a candidate is way ahead, they don’t debate. Not a good sign.

I’ve heard that it’s not a TCJ, so it really is good news. If it’s a Tea Party NSON poll, they were right on the Delaware Primary. NSON isn’t well known but they do have a track record of being a polling / survey firm out of Salt Lake City I believe.

If it’s Rasmussen, it goes from 11 to 6. That shows the race tightening, and it’s big news.

If it’s Time or Fox or PPP or Gallup or any other well known pollster, it’s a huge story. Because that means it went from 19 to 6. And that’s a huge momentum shift.

Whatever it is, I think it means that Christine is at 6. And I would take a look at how many Ds they talked to vs Rs.

I am still looking for the poll cited in the e-mail they sent. I do know that Rassmussen had her down by 11% right after the debate, which is a jump from where she had been in most polls. http://tbogg.firedoglake.com/2010/10/15/christine-odonnell-is-surging-in-jeffrey-lords-pants/

"The original poster has studiously avoided providing any source for his data."

The first sentence in my original post explains that it came from a Tea Party Express e-mail and I was asking if anyone had an information on other polls showing a similar result. (I assume the the poll is one either conducted by, or paid for by, the Tea Party Express.)

"Dated 10/15?"

Yes, that was the Friday right after the debate on Wednesday the 13th. Rasmussen showed her trailing by 11% in that poll, which represents a surge from from where she had been polling. The point is that she appears to be surging, which is what the Tea Party Express e-mail was claiming. As I stated elsewhere, I suspect that the 6% number comes from a Tea Party Express sponsored poll.

That’s how far the pubbies are down in Senate races in those states....but they have been lightly polled, there could be a shocker that emerges from one of those races...Huffman in Oregon ought to be doing better, but has no money.

Shocking that Ras hasn’t polled since then. It’s as if this race is being purposely not polled.

I’ve heard that it’s not a TCJ, so...

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Some guy posts "some poll..." and can't stick around to answer a single question about his "poll"? You are assuming that there is such a poll. Don't ASSUME. Didn't you learn in grade school what happens when you ASS-U-ME? Only in this case, nobody is going to make an ass of ME.

Given that their own post debate poll showed the race starting to tighten, it is a bit odd.

Given that the citing of the poll was in a Tea Party Express e-mail and no outside polling groups were cited, that is what I assumed. I have not seen any other poll more recent than the ones taken right after the debate.

Hi GLDNGUN
I don’t see many posts by you so much anymore. I still have your “lowdown” post in my favorites. That was some incredible writing.

BTW, I don’t believe this poll actually exists, either.

Yeah, maybe. I know that this same thing happened a month, month and a half ago. The Tea Party Express would announce a new poll and then not release the topline for a while, and then not release any internals for a while. They did get the election right, and NSON is a legitimate organization. They do “real” polls, and they got it right in Delaware in September.

What I’m assuming is that he wasn’t lying about getting that email from tea party express.

Because if it’s from tea party express, it most likely is their own poll, perhaps taken by NSON as was the case in September.

I agree that he could at least stick around and answer questions.

I just wanted to say that it’s likely a good poll that we can tell other people about, without reservations. I have personal reservations about TCJ. But I don’t about NSON.

That was a possibility. He’s a law school dean or something in Portland? A lot of the house races in Oregon are a lot better for Republicans than expected.

Excellent post. I believe that many "uncounted and unpolled" Americans will come out to vote for Christine in Delaware. Frankly, so many of us are sick and tired of the notion that only lifetime bureaucrats with law degrees are qualified to represent us in Washington.

I am also revolted by so many Freepers writing Christine off just because, as you point out, she made a few verbal gaffes and rookie mistakes and saying that we'd be better off with RINO Mike Castle. I've had enough of polished, slick, cookie-cutter Republican RINOs who only end up sacrificing their conservative principles and reaching across the aisle to the Democrats once elected.

Well a lot of people who are moderates hate Karl Rove. Actually, Karl Rove is hated intensely by most. Conservatives no longer like him. Only neocons really, and there really aren’t too many of them at all.
