JERUSALEM (JTA) -- Israeli Sephardic leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef in his weekly Saturday night sermon said that non-Jews exist to serve Jews.
Goyim were born only to serve us. Without that, they have no place in the world; only to serve the People of Israel, he said during a public discussion of what kind of work non-Jews are allowed to perform on Shabbat.
"Why are gentiles needed? They will work, they will plow, they will reap. We will sit like an effendi and eat," he said to some laughter.
Yosef, the spiritual leader of the Shas Party and the former chief Sephardi rabbi of Israel, also said that the lives of non-Jews are protected in order to prevent financial loss to Jews.
"With gentiles, it will be like any person: They need to die, but God will give them longevity. Why? Imagine that ones donkey would die, theyd lose their money. This is his servant. Thats why he gets a long life, to work well for this Jew, said the rabbi, who recently turned 90.
An audio recording of some of the rabbi's remarks was broadcast on Israel's Channel 10.
The American Jewish Committee condemned the rabbi's remarks in a statement issued Monday.
"Rabbi Yosefs remarks -- suggesting outrageously that Jewish scripture asserts non-Jews exist to serve Jews -- are abhorrent and an offense to human dignity and human equality, said AJC Executive Director David Harris. "Judaism first taught the world that all individuals are created in the divine image, which helped form the basis of our moral code. A rabbi should be the first, not the last, to reflect that bedrock teaching of our tradition."
I was thinking of replying by explaining some of the differences (at least as I understand them) between Jewish and non-Jewish slaves, but considering what sometimes happens when I hold forth on such topics, I thought better of it!
Is Noach, Noah in the English? That opinion is totally flawed. Cain left the area and married some gal in the land of Nod to the east of Eden. Cain has his own genealogy.
Probably wise.
Ah, well, what can we say? Even those of us who are staunch Pro-Israel Conservatives just KNEW if people looked long enough they’d find a few morons living among the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And so they have...
Truth be told, “Goyim” do not exist to serve Jews. In fact, both Gentiles AND Jews ultimately exist to serve Yeshua, the Messiah. But this message hasn’t quite penetrated the Sephardi Leader Yosef’s heart and mind. I pray that it does — soon.
Shabat Shalom, Yosef.
I am not of that opinion. ;)

[Amalek] asked [his father Eliphaz the Yeminite], "Father, who will inherit This World and the World to Come?" "The Children of Israel," replied [Eliphaz]. "Go out and dig wells for them and fix roads for them. If you do so, your share will be with the lowly among them and you will enter the World to Come." But [Amalek] did not do so. Instead he set out to destroy the world (Yalkut Shimoni, Beshalach 268).
Something to think about.
would not be a bit surprised if he was being supported by the obamanation evil network
Ironically, Rabbi Yosef is Sefaradi, and some anti-Semites actually regard them as "authentic white Israelites" (as opposed to the "khazar" 'Ashkenazim), so they really shouldn't object.
Then again, considering that many anti-Semitic "identity" nincompoops not only have this very same attitude toward "non-'Israelites'" (in fact, even worse; the "identity" Nazis don't even believe non-whites are descended from Adam or are human beings at all), they really have no reason to open their mouths. Of course, this won't stop them.
Cain's wife was his twin sister who had been born along with him in the Garden. What, you one of those people who believes there were other human beings around other than those descended from Adam?
Genesis 4:22 says "the sister of Tuval-Qayin was Na`amah." She was thus the daughter of Lamekh, the descendant of Cain.
One opinion is that this is the Na`amah that Noach married. Another is that Noach's wife was named Na`amah, but she wasn't the same person as Tuval-Qayin's sister.
They might wind up as dust anyway. Jews in America always vote the most stupid choices.
Yeah. How about George Soros being a moron? He is a very seriously lapsed Jew...
I think G-d might have a different view of that man’s opinion...........
According to the scientific community upon the discovery of DNA is it literally impossible for all God's children to have come from 'the' Adam and Eve. And Moses records there were two different days of creation. The sixth day and then the 'day' following the seventh. So your attempt to label and impugned for what Moses recorded is NOT lost.
There is NO record of Cain having a twin sister but a twin brother Able which Cain murdered.
Genesis 4:17-23 does indeed give Cain's genealogy, but Genesis 5 gives 'the' Adam's genealogy, and the names are curiously similar but they are not the same.
There was a suggestion in the High Holidays prayer book commentary section that judges should not be too old as they often tend to become harsh. In addition, many of the Sephardim come from the Islamic world. This may be a significant influence on their attitudes.
Finally the Good Lord has certainly made sure that there is some distribution of nudniks among all groups of people.
There have always been plenty of Jewish morons.
:-)
I’m sorry — since you sou don’t know me, you probably didn’t recognize the THICK layer of sarcasm dripping from the words in my previous post. My apologies that I didn’t somehow make that clearer!
A few? If so, he's one who has been given a great deal of power. He's the "spiritual leader" of party which keeps he current Likud coalition in power. What do you think that chances that Bibi would dump him for this? I'd say about zero.
Here's an idea. Let's stick all Jews who endorse this position on an island above the Arctic circle with all Muslims that believe in the Umma, give the Jews nukes to even things up and don't let anyone leave until they settle their differences. I'm sick of this Middle East fundamentalist BS.
Dang, I knew I was somebody’s b*tch. I just wasn’t sure until now whose b*tch I was. :-D
