WTF is this? Impeachment is OFF THE TABLE for a foreign-born MARXIST who has USURPED the presidency and violated the Constitution about 1,000 times? SCREW THIS!

This is NOT what I am voting for! We must make it clear to the RINOs that impeachment is ON THE AGENDA, not just on the table.

An attempt to impeach Obama would have bad consequences for our side. While it would “feel good”, it would be seen by many Americans as an over reach by conservatives. It would also take our attention off the economy and national security. Impeachment would waste political capital in order to make Joe Biden President. Lets move on to more productive ideas.

The Constitution, Article II, Section 4:

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

I am not one to shrink from the constitutional responsibility of the Congress to impeach and convict officers including presidents for "bribery, high crimes, misdemeanors." In fact, I wrote a vanity deploring the exoneration of Bill Clinton and outlining why I thought he was guilty of actual felonies.

But equally will I resist mindless invocations of impeachment because we do not like the policies of the chief executive. Show me bribery, a high crime, or even a misdemeanor, and I will lead the rhetorical charge for impeachment. Short of that, let us retain our common sense and our respect for the Constitution.

It seems we have 2 years till he's out. We need to focus on overturning Obama care and send him legislation to veto that benefits the American people. I don't want this Congress spending all it's time on a witch hunt.

Expose the truth in late 2012. I want to run against Obama, not Hillary or Bahy.

We must make it clear to the RINOs that impeachment is ON THE AGENDA, not just on the table.

Where in the pledge was the call for impeachment?

I must have missed it.

They should start with the requirement that every bill have a citation of constitutional authority. Then go through and defund any agency that doesn't have constitutional authority.

After that, they can check BO's papers.

I agree with Congressman Issa on this. Even if we had a high crime or misdemeanor to charge 0bama with, it would be a waste of time to impeach him. Thats because:

1. The votes to impeach 0bama simply aren’t there in the Senate.

2. 0bama is up for re-election in 2012. Let the voters take him out.

3. If we went through the impeachment process it might take a year and a half to get him out of office. At that point Biden would take over and he wouldn’t be able to get rid of all of the czars or any of the cabinet members. So what would be accomplished by impeachment.

4. It would be politically divisive...and would probably make 0bama and the Dems more popular. Just as 0bama and the Dems are unpopular because they focused on healthcare too much and the economy to little over the last 2 years, Republicans would be unpopular because they will be seen as focussing on impeachment too much and the economy too little.

5. And, lastly, we don’t have a high crime or misdemeanor to charge him with. Being a Marxist is not a high crime or a misdemeanor...its a political preference which would best be resolved by the voters.

In summary, impeachment contains a very high risk for Republicans with every little reward.

He told Rush that they were going to investigate... notice the “not at this point” statement. I do not like Issa... I think that he is a rino... but they cannot impeach without evidence and they have to investigate things to gather evidence.

We are not a movement of Kangaroo Courts. Now if they have evidence and refuse... Call me... I will ride to DC with you, carrying Tar and Feathers!

Impeachment in the House is a waste of time unless you can get a conviction in the Senate. Bill Clinton’s impeachment proved that.

Impeachment would only make a martyr out of him. To many on the left, especially the blacks, would see it as “getting the black man”. It would reinforce the mantra that it was his color all along.

The Republicans have enough information on him now to put behind the scenes pressure on him and if only one state demands a long form BC enough pressure would be applied that he would just slither away. That could be used to show that he just wasn’t up to the job and didn’t have what it takes to lead.

There are NOT ENOUGH VOTES in the Senate to get a two thirds majority for conviction....67 votes. It was tried with Clinton. It wont work. Forgetdaboutit.

Give me a break. Issa and the GOP would be insane right before the midterms to even hint that with the GOP in the majority in the House, there would be the possibility of an impeachment trial. It would be playing right into the Dems hands and alienate many voters.

I don’t know how much Soros paid for this article, but he got his money’s worth. Exactly what can Issa say. If he says he will investigate Obummer. He has given it a great rallying cry and a coherent message to turn out the vote. If he says no comment, they run with that. Issa’s only alternative is to take the whole thing off the table for now and leave out the “for now”.
Crap, do we really believe that Issa wants to be responsible for the October Surprize! Let’s not talk like we have won. Let’s get out there and win! [FUBO and the soros you rode in on.]

“This is NOT what I am voting for! We must make it clear to the RINOs that impeachment is ON THE AGENDA, not just on the table. “

That would be a great way to keep Pelosi and Reid in power forever.

In AZ-8, we have a close race between an air-head liberal democrat who, when she isn’t in DC, lives with her husband in TX and a good, solid conservative ex-Marine. But if the district thought a vote for Kelly was a vote to remove Obama from office, Giffords would run away with the district.

The country, as a whole, is somewhat to the left of FreeRepublic.

Unless we get 67 Republican senators, impeachment is not practical. We have to remove Obama from office, not let him become a martyr to the demoralized Democratic base.

As it is, Obama’s going to find he has no money to do what HE wants. The House will be GOP, and the House initiates funding.

The Republicans need to focus on the economy. That is what Americans are worried about. Impeaching Obama would just be red meat for the base, but it would do nothing to improve the economic conditions for Americans in general. It would, however, fire up liberals and make independents wonder if republicans were capable of governing.

If the American people are disenchanted with Obama, they will vote him out in two years.

“simply because it disagrees with the president.”

And he’s totally correct...

They will impeach him for the crimes involved in the Sestak Bribe, the GM fiasco, his Illinois corruption, etc.

Talking about impeaching Obama less than two weeks before a huge election victory would be stupid.
