You'll find that I have either fully supported nominated candidates, or kept my criticisms to myself.
Personally, I think Rove screwed up with his comments about O'Donnell. It looked to me like he was angry more than anything else. He should have kept his mouth shut.
However, watching Freepers trash Rove for doing exactly the same thing they do on a daily basis strikes me as hypocritical. Should you support someone you disagree with because they won the nomination of your party or not?
I believe its the former, because that's how you win elections and stop the Democrats (our real enemy)....if you want to fight for a different candidate in the next primary, fine.
In all fairness, there is a HUGE difference between individuals offering opinions on a conservative political internet forum and a renown Republican rainmaker going on nat'l TV immediately following a primary and trashing his parties candidate.
Calling that a double standard is a bit over the top.
We are NOT a Republican forum, we are a conservative forum. We should support Republicans when we consider that Republican to be better for the country and the conservative movement than any other alternatives. If he isn’t better then we should oppose or ignore him as circumstances require. That course is inappropriate for a professional republican operative.
