Obama to visit Steve Jobs
Fortune/CNN ^ | 0ct. 21, 2010 | Philip Elmer-DeWitt

The While House has confirmed a rumor that was echoing through the blogosphere Thursday afternoon: President Obama is indeed scheduled to meet Apple (AAPL) CEO Steve Jobs later today in a San Francisco hotel.

The President is on his way to two Bay Area fundraisers -- one at the home of clean technology venture capitalist Steve Westly and another at the Palo Alto home of Google (GOOG) VP Marissa Mayer. Seats at the Mayer dinner are reportedly going for $30,000 each.

But the meeting with Jobs is a little different, according to White House spokesman Robert Gibbs:

"This is a meeting the president was interested in having," Gibbs told reporters traveling with Obama. "He's eager to talk to him about the economy, innovation and technology, education."

Obama is known to use Apple products in the White House, and Jobs is a long-time supporter of Democratic causes and candidates.

Guess Obama is actually looking for Steve’s brother, Shovel-Ready Jobs.

The only shovel-ready jobs the Democrats have created is for those guys with shovels who follow the Democrat Party mascot, the jackass, around, and clean up his droppings.

Obama sure knows how to make the majority of the country ill. Seeing him giving another speech and wasting our money is enough to make many of us vote a straight ticket.

I sometimes wonder if all of those “conservatives” that voted for Obama were Apple users. Normally, they are conservative ... however, when Steve Jobs lays down one of his laws, the Applezombies immediately do his bidding .... no questions asked. They’ll defend him and his decisions at all costs. Or, better yet, they’ll flood Free Republic with 2x the articles claiming that the iPod is the greatest comsumer product of all time or how Apple singlehandedly wiped out the need for optical media just by releasing a new AirBook or whatever.

Seeing that I got an iPad recently, I wonder if this is going to happen to me. Oh dear God, no! I go out and buy a toy to browse the internet and I’ll subsequently get my mind wiped when it comes to voting ... I’m doomed, man, doomed.

I thought that the One was addicted to his Blackberry and even had a custom one programmed that was “ultra secure” after he ascended into office.

I give it a 75% chance its for Obama to talk tough to Jobs for insufficiently supporting attempts to save California’s global warming law. Gates, the Google guys, others have contributed—chump change to them.

Are you familiar with Bill Gate's politics?

There's no way to win in this race. I choose Apple because those liberal bastards build a better computer than the other liberal bastards.

I build my own PCs :-) ... cheaper than Apple though not as pretty.

As far as an OS is concerned, I am forced, for the most part, to use Windows. I hate it though Windows 7 has been fixed up thanks to Apple (it’s great what competition does to the lazy that like being rich).

I can use Linux for about 90% of what I do these days. If my PCB design software gets a Linux port, I’m done with Windows :-).

Finally, I can care less about who uses what :-)! I just like getting the Applezombies all fired up ;-). And, no, not all Apple users are not zombies (my iPad has programmed me to say that).

They paid over $1.5 billion in Federal and State taxes last year, I guess BHO considers that too little. I estimate Google's income tax savings on its foreign income (about 60% of total company income) is almost 30%.

Google has accumulated over $12 billion of income overseas. If BHO succeeds in taxing that income, that'd be about $3.5 billion. So Google will make nice to the "Community Organizer in Chief".
