The cable news network signs the analyst to a new three-year contract for nearly $2 million. Meanwhile, conservative figures blast the public radio network for its response to Williams' comments about Muslims.
Reporting from Washington As National Public Radio weathered a storm of criticism Thursday for its decision to fire news analyst Juan Williams for his comments about Muslims, Fox News moved aggressively to turn the controversy to its advantage by signing Williams to an expanded role at the cable news network.
Fox News Chief Executive Roger Ailes handed Williams a new three-year contract Thursday morning, in a deal that amounts to nearly $2 million, a considerable bump up from his previous salary, the Tribune Washington Bureau has learned. The Fox News contributor will now appear exclusively and more frequently on the cable news network and have a regular column on FoxNews.com.

How do you like us now?
“How do you like us now?” - Nicely done!
wait, i thought fox was completely biased against libs and racist, to boot
Juan can be a dumb-as-a-rock liberal, but his long-term association with FNC has matured and educated him somewhat. It will be interesting to see if he continues to moderate his views in the aftermath of this situation. He’d be silly to stick to a liberal viewpoint given how his fellow liberals stabbed him in the back.
I’m unimpressed. Kind of a double win for the libtards. Whannn gets expanded time to express his love of liberalism while NPR has sent a clear message to the folks to get the hell back on the reservation or suffer the consequences.
I hope Juan has learned something and it is worth it I thought the firing was an attack on free speech and I don’t think we should be forced to fund NPR at all but Juan is still a liberal.
Maybe Juan will be able to figure out where his bread is being buttered.
Good for Fox!! Juan is a liberal, but he’s OUR liberal. Harmless and amusing sometimes. Besides, watching Brit smack him around is entertaining! One question for Juan....how many of your liberal friends defended you? crickets
Oh! And, Juan...McVeigh was an agnostic....not a radical Christian.
Remember how we all (over)reacted when Ailes signed Greta away from CNN? It was going to be the end of the world. Either Greta was already somewhat conservative and we just weren’t seeing it, or she has grown more conservative since joining Fox. Either way, her show is an absolute delight. It is my personal favorite of all Fox shows. Kudos to Roger for bringing her in and it wouldn’t surprise me if Juan makes Roger look like a genious again.
Juan! Come on in, the water’s warm and the pool is huge!
Better the crash dummy than alan colmover.
FOX has too many liberals, whorealdo, sheppy, juan, bob beckel, then that dead looking guy that used to be on with Hannity, alan something. Is he dying from AIDs?
Laughing all the way to the bank.
Juan is going to learn how sweet it is to be a dirty capitalist.
I say good for Fox News. Juan may be a liberal but he is actually one of the few liberals who is tolerable to watch. He doesn’t scream, ridicule and interrupt anyone with an opposing viewpoint which makes him unusual when talking about the liberal genre. He is, in short, that rarest of all rare things, a polite liberal.
Another batch of thank you cards for Juan’s haters. Many times we’ve tried to defund NPR of taxpayer dollars; I hope this is it.
OK Libtards, tell me again that FOX is a totally right wing organ of the republican party.
"Market" forces forced them to "go tabloid", and Greta's show got a makeover to start covering the Laci Petersons and other social/cultural tragedies and happenings.
I'd say she was quite fortuitous on the remake.
As for RW, where are they going to put him in the line-up?
That is, remember the rumors of Greta's spot going to Beck?
