What does being a journalist have to do with simply stating “Hey, the IDF rousted their own people”?
Absolutely nothing.
I had thought that I said that, because I gave the town in question a fictitious Israeli name. I’m sorry I didn’t conform to the high journalistic standards you expect from Freep posters. I’m sorry Freep posters can’t tell the difference between an Israeli and an Arabic name. I am sorry my sincere desire to put down what I saw, which was intense, caused me to forget such fundamentals as paragraph breaks.
I’m just a witness, describing a scene to people I thought were both (1) sympathetic to a story about the IDF rousting their own; and (2) familiar enough with Hebrew to know it when they see it (I don’t know French, but I know French names when I see them).
Obviously, I was wrong in my second assumption.
I am not convinced that I was wrong about my first assumption, although this thread has shown little evidence of that. But I can rely on my experience over the years of posting here to reassure me on that score, which brings me to my main complaint:
the “trollish smell”.
If you suspect someone of being a troll, simply search his screen name for prior posts, and you’ll soon know what he’s all about. That way, you won’t throw around baseless accusations and thereby make unnecessary enemies.
