Here in CA we’ve been subjected to OVER a YEAR of constant ads on TV and radio for Meg. No problem, it’s her money. But now when Brown and Gloria Alred attack with junk hardball, Meg retreats to lame softball ads instead of grabbing the advantage. The public knows the nanny issue is actually in Meg’s favor and/or is madder at Brown than Meg.

Meg is snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and she did it the GOP way: hand wringing, scared of being called mean, apologetic, weak.

So much money squandered needlessly. She either plays hardball and asserts conservative values or she goes down whimpering. I’ll vote for her and watch with interest.

I don’t believe this poll because I don’t believe Californians are that stupid enough to give Governor Moonbeam another shot at the Governorship.

Here is the crux of the poll, IMO. I predict a low Republican turnout (58% not satisfied!)
“In general, would you say you are satisfied or not satisfied with your choices of candidates
in the election for governor on November 2nd?”

Likely voters only | All Likely Voters | Party | Latinos
                    | | Dem Rep Ind |
Satisfied | 42% | 50% 38% 30% | 43%
Not satisfied | 55 | 46 58 68 | 54
Don’t know | 3 | 4 4 2 | 3

Look at Independents.  68 percent is pretty damn high this late in the game.

The "Don't Know" is pretty low, which means people are paying attention.

Absolutely, nobody I know likes any of the candidates -- for any office.

There are a couple more interesting tidbits in the detailed poll numbers. One is women. Women are overwhelmingly supporting Brown. I think "whoregate" lost Meg about 10 points for her feigned (and unbelievable) indignation.

The other is the number of "undecideds" this late in the game. I think that draws directly from these "Not Satisfied" voters. How do you choose between arsenic and hemlock? Given that level of indecision, the question is: how many will go to the polls?

[Cheerio] Oh we are going to see all sorts of polls in the final lap showing how strong the RATS are coming back.

RatMedia to conservative Californians: "Take the week off. Stay home, forget the election. We've got this one."

Yeah, when California "independents" are dissatisfied with their choices of candidates and their choices are a hippy Leftist and a RiNO, what exactly does that mean? That indies are candidates themselves for the Brown Shirts? Goldwater Girls? Or they're so far left they wouldn't be satisfied with anyone to the right of V. I. Lenin?

Or does it mean the Hispanics simply want a choice between "one of their own" and "one of their own" with no chance for an Anglo to be elected? (I.e., they're MeChistas?)

I'm not sure what this "dissatisfied" number is registering.

And if the "don't know" is so low, how does that square with the earlier-cited number of high "undecideds" two weeks out?

I actually like hearing this kind of news. Good motivation for conservatives to make sure to show up at the polls.

Unbelievable, to the people in Cali, a goofy, has been political hack is preferable to a proven, inovative CEO who might actually fix some of the problems that the state is currantly in a mess.

Apparently, the staged event by Gloria Allred has won.

Again, the democrats play hardball in elections, and the republicans play nice.

Whitman needs to shovel some dirt on Brown quickly, and it needs to show Brown’s anti-hispanic tendencies.

Fight fire with fire or lose.

California is done if Whitman wins.

Both parties are responsible for putting up trash globalist candidates. That’s why it doesn’t really matter which one of them actually wins. Either one will honor all the MOU’s Arnold is issuing to China, Russia and the EU which will effectively finish off the state’s economy and destroy whatever shred of sovereignty California citizens have left.

Yeah, this is a silly poll... Really, if California, in dept, bankrupt, no jobs, etc,... elects Brown, they will get what they wish for (Bankruptcy).

Bankruptcy is what California needs. That is the only way to legally overturn all these contracted pension and union agreements. Our public servants are strangling us. They are supposed to serve us and not eat us alive.

If Calif goes bankrupt, is it possible for the politicians/judges to exempt bureaucrat and union pensions from being overturned?

Technically California can't legally go bankrupt as there is no provision in the Federal Bankruptcy laws for a State to do so. However under the 10th Amendment one would think that California has the sovereign right to declare itself bankrupt and to stop paying all its bills and to tear up all its contracts pending a reorganization.

If I were elected governor, my first act would be to declare the State to be Bankrupt and to direct the Treasurer to stop issuing checks to all non-safety related state vendors and employees. I would then appoint a receiver to oversee the state finances and to direct the State into a reorganization and redrafting of state employee and pension contracts. I would then propose legislation outlawing all state employee unions.

Then after I was forcibly removed from office I would move to Utah.

Sounds like there’s still some degree of freedom in Alaska.

Why Utah....you might bump into Orrin Hatch and get that oil all over your travelin’ clothes.

Too bad they can’t set an oil rig up on rinos. They’d solve the nation’s energy crisis.
