Republican Congressman Mark Kirk is now barely ahead of Democrat Alexi Giannoulias in Illinois up-and-down race for the U.S. Senate.
The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Kirk picking up 44% of the vote, while Giannoulias, the current state treasurer, draws 40% support. Green Party candidate LeAlan Jones earns the vote from four percent (4%) of voters, and eight percent (8%) prefer some other candidate. Five percent (5%) are undecided. The race is still a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings. The survey was taken the night before their second head-to-head debate.
The race was a virtual tie last week, when Giannoulias picked up 44% of the vote to Kirk's 43%.

I listened to the debate last night and concluded that both these guys are LOSERS!
The debate sucked, it would be hard to pick two more exrementally bad candidates, but as an old coach once phrased it during a halftime pep talk, “when crap meets crap, someone still has to win, and it better be our side”.
I see this as the first step in a journey that is only now beginning, thanks to that idiot Jack Ryan and his pervy proclivities that put one Barack Obama in the US Senate. Breaking the Democrat lock on the Senate is a huge deal, and the next Senator can be a whole lot better than Mark Kirk.
Jack Ryan’s ( and previous to that Blair Hull in the D primary) sealed divorce papers were forced open by the Chicago Libune. Guess who was pushing hisformer co workers to accomplish this??? David Axelrod
Maybe we can get Oberweiss to take Kirk down in the Primary.
This race is hopeless - - two scumbags.
I have to pull of the rat in this case since I’d rather be knifed in the face by an enemy than stabbed in the back by a “friend”.
