In Debka’s sidebar is this: “Third US Carrier, 4,000 Marines deployed opposite Iran.” Clicking the link goes to paid archive notice. Granted, this is a wonky site, but what’s with the 3rd carrier?
Three in the area is half of what would be needed to support an attack. So, it doesn’t matter much yet. Doesn’t hurt to keep track of the numbers though.
