I’ve Made My Decision – Tom Tancredo For Governor
The Constitution Club ^ | 10-18-10 | Dave the Sage

Posted on 10/19/2010 6:19:35 PM PDT by TheConservativeCitizen

For any who have been following the Colorado gubernatorial race it as been an ugly, disastrous, GOP bungle in the middle of what should only be a Republican year. The hand-picked GOP establishment candidate was former congressman Scott McInnis. I actually like the guy, but he tended to be a flip-flopper and the TEA party types didn’t trust him. He was opposed by no-name businessman Dan Maes who came out of nowhere riding the anti-establishment mood to emerge from the state convention with strong backing and a place on the primary ballot.

Within just a few days the press launched a well-placed and apparently true story about a plagiarism charge against Scott McInnis which had occurred for his work on water issues for an obscure foundation. What isn’t really known is that the $300,000 “fellowship” was little more than ”pay-for-play” influence money for wealthy Muslim Pakistani Seeme Hasan to get her son Ali into Colorado Republican politics with the help of a fairly popular former congressman.

The plagiarism ”scandal” was just enough for the strongest of the two GOP gubernatorial candidates to be effectively knocked out of the race. At this point a number of backroom ideas and attempted deals started bubbling to the surface. Basically, the GOP establishment wanted Scott McInnis to win the primary. He would then be promised whatever and step down, and the party bosses would select a new candidate for governor to face Denver mayor John “Loopy” Hickenlooper in the fall.

But instead Dan Maes won the primary and immediately refused to play along and drop out for any new candidate. He figured he’d won fair and square and was the legitimate and legal GOP candidate for governor. And technically he was.

They are becoming more brazen on this site the last few days. At first were the expected “Why didn’t Tancredo run in the primary,” and “Tancredo is just a spoiler.” When the situation is explained, those posters convert. But I am seeing more and more: I won’t vote for Tancredo because (enter reason). Quite disappointing.

To “be fiscally conservative” or to “reduce government spending” , Republicans would have to repeal Obamacare, social security, medicare, medicaid, HUD , and thousands of other agencies and thousands of laws that mandate those agencies etc.

Fair enough.

Let's pretend that the Republican dream came true tonight and everything you mentioned came to pass - with absolutely no opportunity for an Obama veto. Would you be happy?

My point is that the Republicans don't understand economics any better than the Democrats.

The problem is that we have a debt-based currency, instead of one which is issued by our US Treasury. This means that all of what we call 'money' is simply a claim on the future labor of a person or group of people.

If the Republicans were successful in getting rid of everything that you mentioned (which we need to) then we will see the true economic depression that we are in - since the debt-money will be greatly reduced.

The Republicans need to combine their reduced spending plans with what is much more important - the concept of ridding our nation of debt-based currency.

If the US Treasury issued our currency then there would be no need to issue claims (US government securities) against the future labor of our people.

The question that everyone should be asking is this: Why won't the Republican Party fight for honest currency (and no, I don't mean gold)?

So Bush and Republicans created social security , medicare, medicaid , welfare, HUD , government schools etc? That's a lie.

By they way slick, those are your words...I never brought up any of that.

Lets stick to what is actually posted OK Fred?

Again, good luck with that.

That's your debate position?

One more question for you...

Does God command us to vote for the lesser of two evils? Or does He command us to fear Him and keep His commandments?

One more question for you...

Do you believe, or have you ever heard Tom Tancredo say, that he fears God?

Republicans finally took over Congress in 1994 with only a simple majority you will see that there is virtually no government in 2006 when Democrats/socialists took over again.

I have no idea what this means, but is exactly what I referring to when I posted:

A replay of the 2006 Bush/GOP disaster?

So bad, four years later Rove and Bush and their big gov GOP groupies, (like you) hand the White House over to a college campus Communist from Chicago...Or Africa...

Let's take just 2 democrat programs then.

Democrats created social security and medicare.

Social Security and Medicare caused the most spending growth during Bush and the Republican congress’ term.Republicans had nothing to do with that “spending increase”.

Republicans never had a super majority to repeal medicare and Social security, etc..

I can keep going, medicaid, HUD etc.

The liberal media blames Republicans for social security , medicare and the rest of the thousands of agencies that were in place in 1994 BEFORE The Republicans finally took over. You believe the liberal media lies.

If you just take the government Republicans created since 1994 you'd have almost no government because you wouldn't have social security , medicare etc.

I live in the Denver metro area and my business is in Denver proper. Hickenlooper has done everything he can to tax us to death, often by calling it fees. West Denver is overrun with illegal aliens and nothing is done about it. Hickenlooper has wasted tens of millions on his pet project of eliminating homelessness by building them brand new apartments. The money has been spent and there are more professional panhandlers on the streets of Denver than ever before.

Last summer, he failed to let any citizens know that roaming gangs of young black thugs were singling out white victims to be beaten. We only learned after the fact, after many men had been beaten.

Hickenlooper is a disaster as a mayor and will be a disaster as a governor.

No child left behind?

AIDS in Africa?

SCHIPS?

What’s the budget for all that?

in 12 years that’s big government? LOL. BS.Social security is many times bigger than all that. And all that can be rebutted individually and that doesn’t cause harm to the USA, like the thousands of regulatory agencies that Democrats created. Your spinning and lying.

Earmarks? LOL LOL LOL. That’s this big 3.4 trillion government? LOL .

You are for democrats/socialists.

Post the budget for all that you and the liberal media SAY Republican Congress created.

Look at a bugdet breakdown.

show proof.

what you list is all spin and lies and not even adds up to 1% of the federal budget. A far cry from growing the size of the government by 50% as you and the media say.
